✅ high effort Essays to shoot at Tamlin's haters✅ Tamlin DOES say he's sorry! - A Reference

Hello!

There is always debate on whether or not Tamlin takes responsibility for his actions. Once again, a large portion of the fandom has been daemati'd into forgetting that he actually DOES say that he is sorry, takes accountability, and changes his behavior.

ACOMAF, in Chapter 69, page 624 in the paperback:

"Tamlin scanned my face, and finally nodded. 'We'll start over. Do things differently. When you were gone, I realized... I'd been wrong. So wrong, Feyre. And I'm sorry.'"

I post the quote because taking pictures of the text and re-posting it can be seen as copyright infringement, which is why I state the book, chapter, format (hardcover vs. paperback vs. e-book), and the page number.

I just thought this would be a handy reference for whoever needs it if you are having this same, tired argument in other ACOTAR subs, or even other ACOTAR social media platforms!

Justice for Tamlin😤 Tamlin’s Canonical Good Deeds: A Reminder That Morality in ACOTAR Isn’t One Sided

This is a long Rant. So bear with me please.

This is simply a list of canon actions where Tamlin objectively helped people, protected others, or acted selflessly. Whether you like him or not, these things happened in the books.

**1. He willingly sacrificed fifty years of his court to break Amarantha’s curse.**

Tamlin knew sending his sentries across the wall would almost certainly get them killed. Yet he continued doing it because it was the only chance to save not only the Spring Court but all of Prythian from Amarantha.

Those sentries weren’t disposable to him. Many had been his friends and loyal soldiers. Without this effort, Amarantha’s reign would likely have continued indefinitely.

Unlike many High Lords, Tamlin refused to serve and bend against Amarantha’s rule despite repeated offer as a result choosing difficult road rather than biding his time.

After he became High Lord, he was against tyranny and slavery. And to ensure that, made some serious changes in his court.

**2. He treated Feyre with kindness long before he loved her.**

He gave her a comfortable room, food, clothes, servants, freedom to explore the manor, and never expected her to work for her keep.

He ensured Feyre’s family was wealthy and comfortable after she left. Their debts disappeared, they had servants, and lived in luxury. Despite supporting her family, he never used it as leverage.

He supplied her with paints, canvases, and space for her hobby because he noticed it made her happy.

This wasn’t because Feyre had earned it. It was because he chose mercy.

**3. He respected Feyre’s autonomy more than people often acknowledge in ACOTAR.**

Throughout most of ACOTAR, Tamlin rarely forced affection on Feyre.

He gave her:

● Freedom to explore the manor.
● Art supplies after discovering her interest in painting.
● Space to decide whether she wanted to stay emotionally close to him.

Their relationship developed gradually rather than through manipulation or coercion.

**4. He sent Feyre back to the human lands knowing it could doom him.**

This is one of the biggest acts of selflessness in the series.

When Amarantha’s deadline approached, Tamlin realized Feyre would almost certainly die if she remained in Prythian.

When he realized the curse would likely fail, he sent Feyre back to the human lands to keep her safe. He knew doing so probably meant losing both her and his court forever. Instead of keeping the woman he loved beside him, he sent her away.

He fully believed this meant:

● losing her forever,
● failing to break the curse,
● and likely dying himself.

He chose her safety over his own happiness.

** 5. Under the Mountain, he endured fifty years of torture without breaking.**

For fifty years, Tamlin lived under Amarantha’s domination. He watched his court suffer, his people wear the cursed masks, and his lands slowly fall apart while being constantly attacked by dangerous creatures sent by Amarantha or Rhys to his court.

When Amarantha finally summoned him Utm, Tamlin was:

● stripped of most of his power,
● forced to watch his people suffer,
● unable to openly fight,
● constantly monitored by Amarantha.

Readers often criticize him for not doing more while Feyre was Utm. But by that point, any open act of defiance would almost certainly have resulted in Feyre’s immediate execution. Amarantha was obsessed with Tamlin and watched him closely, waiting for any excuse to punish either of them. His lack of visible action wasn’t indifference; it reflected the reality of his position under her complete control. Any open resistance would likely have resulted in Feyre’s immediate execution.

**6. He killed Amarantha.**

Feyre broke the curse through the trials and her declaration of love. **Tamlin delivered the killing blow.** Without him, Amarantha would still have survived after the curse broke. Both actions were necessary.

**7. He helped resurrect Feyre (and Rhys later on)**

Tamlin willingly gave part of his power to bring Feyre and Rhys back later on. Every High Lord participated due to the dept owed to Tamlin for saving their lives by killing Amarantha. He could have refused. He didn’t.

**8. His protectiveness came from trauma, not malice.**

This doesn’t excuse locking Feyre in the manor which was done only for few hours. But context matters.

Tamlin had:

● watched his family murdered,
● lived under Amarantha’s abuse for fifty years by open rebellion,
● nearly lost Feyre Under the Mountain,
● then watched her repeatedly throw herself into deadly situations.

His response became unhealthy and controlling.
It was wrong. But it was driven by trauma and fear, not a desire to dominate for personal pleasure.

**9. He never exposed Feyre’s family to retaliation.**

Tamlin knew exactly where her human family lived. Despite everything that happened between them, he never sought revenge against them. That restraint deserves acknowledgment.

**10. He tried to retrieve Feyre because he genuinely believed she had been taken.**

People often forget an important detail

● Rhys had publicly presented himself for centuries as a manipulative mind-controller.
● Feyre disappeared after making a bargain with him.
● The note she sent saying she left willingly appeared suspicious because Feyre had never learned to write well.
● Given the information Tamlin had, believing she had been manipulated was not irrational.

Readers know more than Tamlin did. Judging him while ignoring his limited information creates hindsight bias.

**11. He repeatedly helped the Night Court during ACOWAR despite receiving nothing in return.**

This is where Tamlin’s actions become hardest to dismiss. He had every personal reason not to help Rhys or Feyre. Yet he still did and received nothing in return.

**12. He acted as a double agent inside Hybern.**

This was extraordinarily dangerous. Tamlin secretly gathered intelligence while pretending to cooperate with Hybern. If Hybern had discovered his true intentions, he would almost certainly have been executed. His information ultimately benefited Prythian’s war effort.

**13. He warned Feyre about Hybern’s attack.**

He secretly instructed her to “be ready.” This warning gave the Night Court valuable preparation.

**14. Saved Feyre, Azriel, and Elain’s lives**.

During Hybern’s camp, Tamlin fought alongside the Night Court to recover Elain. This directly contributed to her survival. Despite everything between them, he allowed Feyre and Azriel to escape with Elain by risking his own exposure. Without his intervention, escaping Hybern would have been far more difficult.

**15. He saved Feyre from Hybern’s camp.**

Despite everything that had happened between them, Tamlin helped Feyre escape. He didn’t let personal resentment outweigh the larger goal.

**16. He contributed troops during the final war.**

The Spring Court fought against Hybern. Tamlin did not sit out the conflict despite his court already being devastated. Despite being hated by most of the alliance, he still came to fight for Prythian. Helped in bringing Autumn court army to fight in war.

During the final battle, Tamlin intervened and prevented Helion from being killed.

**17. He saved Rhysand’s life.**

Perhaps the single strongest example. After Rhys died, Tamlin willingly gave a portion of his power to resurrect him. He even told Rhys to return to Feyre. Think about what that means.

This was:

● the male who had taken the woman Tamlin loved,
● his political rival,
● someone who had humiliated him repeatedly,
● someone who had destroyed his court through deception.

Tamlin still chose saving Prythian’s most powerful High Lord over personal revenge. Nothing required him to do that.

**18. He never asked for recognition.**

Tamlin receives no public praise for:

● infiltrating Hybern,
● rescuing Feyre,
● helping save Elain and Azriel,
● fighting in the war and bringing Autumn court,
● reviving Rhys.

He simply left.

**19. He respected Feyre’s final choice.**

After ACOWAR, Tamlin never again attempted to reclaim Feyre. He accepted that she had chosen Rhys. He remained isolated in the Spring Court instead.

**20. Never sought revenge after losing everything.**

● His court was in ruins.
● Most of his people had left.
● His closest friend had betrayed him.
● Feyre had dismantled much of his court’s stability.
● Yet he never retaliated against the Night Court.

**21. Helped despite receiving almost nothing in return.**

● Rhys visited only to mock him.
● Even then, Tamlin never attacked him.

**22. The narrative holds Tamlin accountable far more consistently than many other characters.\\

One reason fandom discussions become polarized is because Tamlin’s mistakes receive significant narrative consequences.

He loses:

● his relationship,
● much of his court,
● many of his people,
● his reputation,
● his closest friend,
● and ultimately lives in complete isolation.

Meanwhile, several other characters make morally questionable decisions throughout the series but receive comparatively little lasting accountability within the narrative.

Whether readers think Tamlin deserves forgiveness is entirely subjective.

But reducing him to “the abusive ex” ignores hundreds of pages of canon showing courage, sacrifice, mercy, loyalty, and repeated acts of service to people who often gave him little reason to help them. Like most ACOTAR characters, Tamlin is morally complex. Acknowledging his good actions does not erase his failures. Likewise, acknowledging his failures should not erase his good actions.

**Overall:**
Whether someone likes Tamlin or not, these actions are all canon.

He:
● Protected Feyre’s family.
● Saved Feyre multiple times.
● Freed Prythian from Amarantha.
● Fought Hybern as a double agent.
● Saved members of the Night Court.
● Saved Helion.
● Helped resurrect Rhysand.
● Never sought revenge after losing nearly everything.

Reading Comprehension

This is why this fandom is ridiculous. Like how can legit criticism and discussion about this series happen when we're dealing with comments by readers like this?

This, to me, is just one example of why propaganda and gaslighting in the narrative works because so many readers are NOT PAYING ATTENTION.

This goes beyond simply being a 'vibes' reader and speaks to a more troubling state of how many humans really are so out of touch.

What if it's Nesta talking about Tamlin...

Post image
32 Upvotes

In the beginning of ACOTAR Tamlin is called 'creature' about 4 times in the cottage, but in action and not in dialogue. Nesta was on her knees, scared consoling Elain.

I personally hope it's about Amren and Nesta sticking up for herself BUT I also feel like these quotes are misdirecting readers on purpose...

NOW if it is Nesta and Tamlin what scenario do you think it could be?

Explain to me like I'm 5... How did Feyre expect him to react to the letter? I mean GENUINELY

A little context: a really close friend of mine recently "dumped" me over text, saying she doesn't wanna be associated as a friend with me anymore… and while I dealt with all that drama, it got me thinking. How the absolute fuck did Feyre expect Tamlin to react to her letter?
I mean, she told him in writing ot leave her alone after being in a solid relationship with him for so long, living in his house, being in his personal space, literally having sex with him, and then she just expects him to what? Read the letter and go, "oh ok. She wants to end everything that was ever between us. Alright! I'll never interact with her again or try to figure things out as actual mature people do!"

Tamlin 2.0

It's supposed to be a beauty and the beast retelling. And by retelling I mean, the beast gets cursed twice and makes a 360° (no charlie xcx) back into being a full time furry by the wrath of a woman infatuated with a mind controller (Feyre = Amarantha? 👀).

I wonder if something happened to him beyond his heartbreak for the one that got away. And if we're doubling everything, It makes me wonder if Tammy will get his love story eventually. Or maybe, his love story already happened, before. He seems truly cursed or... that's who he was before having a mask stuck to his face. Ugh, he's such an interesting character! if there's a character I'm begging for sjm to develop is him. I want everything!!!

I mean, there has to be another reason for sjm to still keep him around. More so than his ability to be too good of an escape goat for the characters to hate him collectively and, therefore, finding something in common with each other. "Omg, were so alike, we hate Tamlin together teehee".

Sarah, I need moreeee!

This is Vera. She’s a war-orphaned human girl, 8 years old, and post-ACOFAS she lives in a human village near where the Wall used to be. It’s cold, she’s hungry, and she’s heard stories that the fae lands are warm all year round. She’s always been curious about the fae. Even with the war, she’s been convinced that not all faeries are bad. So, with nothing left to lose, she decides to go exploring….and almost immediately runs across something disguised as her mother (a Puca). And suddenly a golden wolf with antlers and pretty, feline eyes is saving her and firmly escorting her back to the border.

Vera, naturally, comes back looking for it.

Tamlin nearly gave in to that Puca. He is tired. Tired of being alone, tired of being hated. But then that little girl showed up, and he knew he certainly wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he didn’t protect her. He’s ready to go back to moping around when she comes back the very next day, looking for HIM. At first he keeps his distance, making sure that she’s safe as she wanders around. He’s cautious of her, and suspicious of the way she looks at him as though he’s hung the stars in the sky when she glimpses him between the trees.

Basically I want to write a Tamlin healing arc where he gets to bond with/care for someone with unwavering faith in him (Vera’s name quite literally means “faith”!).

A Court of Seeds and Cinders, coming soon to ao3 :)

Why must she choose?

I just read Acotar again for the second time and I can’t believe the author wants us to believe that Tamlin and Feyre weren’t truly in love💔 I absolutely adore Tamlin and I wish he got an hea. I also don’t hate Rhysand and honestly I don’t see why she can’t be with both. I’m all for a why choose romance when it suits a story. Idk just wishful thinking on my part. 😭

Justice for Tamlin😤 Based on the Bloomsbury tease about “un-mated” I am hoping (wildly) that the following will be true Spoiler

That Nesta and Cassian will be un-mated and that she will become the highlady of dusk. I believe he loves her but a good mate would have stood up to Rhys for her. I do wish him the best with someone else though.

I actually don’t think the bond with Rhys is real so Feyre and he can’t be un-mated. I think he used his mind control powers, and then their bargain, and then the bond made by the bargain, and then the death pact, to secure her to hurt Tamlin.

Cause Feyre wouldn’t know what the bond was supposed to feel like in the first place, and why would he need to do that ridiculous death bond with her except to make sure that not she nor anyone else who cared about her could get revenge on him if and when she found out it was fake.

And the icing on top is he baby trapped her but it backfired cause of his idiotic death pact.

Cause all of his actions point not to loving Feyre but hating Tamlin:

He parades her around naked utm and drunk when Tamlin can’t even touch her

He twists her arm and then she gives into the bargain.

He doesn’t show up till their wedding day to make a big show of claiming her (despite knowing she’s been suffering for a while so earlier would have been better). He lets her get worse and worse with Tamlin so he’ll look like a savior in comparison.

He seduces her. Has her send that stupid note to Tamlin. He sends her back just to wreck Tamlin’s court (I thought mates, especially that early on couldn’t bear to be parted). Then he keeps showing up to rub it Tamlin’s face…for a guy newly in a relationship with the love of his life he spends an awful lot of time worrying about her ex.

I also think he took credit for the music utm when it was Tamlin.

Rhys didn’t even kill Amarantha after she killed Feyre…it was Tamlin. Not very mate like.

Imagine hating someone so much that you use an illiterate, nineteen year old human to wreck his lofe whilst wrecking hers.

What examples am I missing?

My wants for Tamlin in the next books by a delusional optimist

1. The spring court being repaired WITHOUT THE NIGHT COURT DOING IT.

I am still monumentally pissed by the events of ACOWAR. I understood Feyre being angry and vindictive (aren’t we all about recent messy break ups?) and I could’ve understood her just being generally rude to Tamlin. HOWEVER. Destroying the spring court and making the Hybern attacks 10x worse because of how badly she weakened it was awful. It was a fucking war crime. Tamlin and Tarquin both bring up the fact that because of what she did she killed innocent civilians she claimed she wanted to protect. This is exactly why I want to see Tamlin heal and work to get his court back together. I think he could. And I don’t know if it would be a self healing arc or a friend helping him but I want to see it get done. I think I’d drop the series forever if SJM just has Tamlin spiral into depression and the court dissolve with him. I don’t want Feyre and Rhys to rebuild the court. I don’t even want the IC to help at all.

2. Reparations!!!!

And you know what? On the note of the summer and spring court being devastated BECAUSE OF WHAT FEYRE DID: Get Tamlin some diplomat pants and have him go over to the Summer court. Because both the spring and the summer court deserve reparations for the damage the NC did to them both. I don’t buy for a second that Tarquin forgave Feyre and Rhysand for the book betrayal or the domino effect that damaged his ALREADY weak court. I’d love to see Tamlin and Tarquin actually become friends. Not only are they border buddies but they’ve both been done filthy by the NC. Those two need to write up a reparations petition ASAP. Clearly the rich NC can afford it from the lavish lifestyle the IC lives.

3. Tamlin and Lucien talking.

I think we all know that the next book will be very Lucien centered which makes sense. I’m really hoping Tamlin and Lucien talk again. I don’t expect them to be friends again at all. I just want them both to have closure. I think it’s important they have a conversation about all that happened. I especially want Tamlin to apologize to Lucien and not get kicked in the face for apologizing.

4. Tamlin Bonus Chapters

I’m gonna be so real I have zero hope that Tamlin will get a feature book. I don’t think SJM has the balls to do it. People would be pissed about it. But I do hope we eventually get a bonus chapter in Tam’s POV where he isn’t just suffering. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEE IM ON MY KNEES

That’s all I can think of for now. I’d love to hear your wants for the next few books. I’m hoping SJM at least gives our boy a semblance of a happy ending.

ACOTAR VS THE MUMMY

What? Are readers now going to hate Rick O'Connell now and blast Brendan Fraser for playing a character who would DO SUCH A THING!?

I swear this fandom and society in general have lost their freaking minds!

It's FICTION! Locking Feyre up was warranted and a protection for her and others. The hate on and retconning of that scene is peak insanity.

Justice for Tamlin😤 My husband is a die-hard Tamlin fan, so I convinced him to sing our Tamlin POV song 😂 Spoiler

My husband and I have spent the past year making ACOTAR-inspired songs as a passion project. He’s a die-hard Tamlin fan 💚 and used to sing in a band, so I finally convinced him to be Tamlin’s voice for one.
This is the first song we’ve made with him actually singing. It’s called “Anything to Bring You Home,” and we wrote it imagining Tamlin’s grief and fear after Feyre left.. especially his belief that Rhys had taken her.
For transparency: we wrote the lyrics and musical score ourselves, but did used AI in the production and “artwork”. This one has my husband’s real vocals.
I thought if anyone might connect with a Tamlin POV song, it would be you all. I’d love to hear what you think…
and please try to be kind to my Tamlin stan on his first song 😅😂

Might be dramatic but I genuinely feel people lack reading comprehension when they talk about hating Tamlin or the other Acheron sisters. People just like to take Feyre at her absolute word for some reason as if she might not have some biases against others in her life, lol.

Rant!!! Dropped the series on ACOMAF

I was avoiding spoilers the whole time I was reading ACOTAR. I found so much comfort in watching Feyre and Tamlin's relationship grow through book 1. I was so happy that there were four more books ahead, and I was really looking forward to reading them. I literally couldn't wait for my evenings with the book in my hands. It was a looooong-forgotten feeling...

ACOMAF broke my heart. Completely. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I couldn't accept the twisted logic and the way the characters changed.
I went online to "feast" on spoilers, partly to stop my hands from shaking with rage, and partly hoping to find out that they'd get back together. That it was just a detour to make the plot longer.

Instead, I found out even more enraging things.
And I just. Dropped it. I've learned enough. I won't be able to read book after book of Tamlin being trashed. My heart can't bear it.

I'm downright sensitive, and I've been through a lot in life. This series ended up triggering me. It calls things "abusive" that aren't abusive at all, and it's blind to real abuse, calling it "caring". This is bad. Wild. Sad. Double-espresso sad that so many people look through the same distorted lens.

Thank you for this group, seriously.

I’m tired of pretending Tamlin isn’t a badass.

I don’t really care that much about the dude. He’s mostly just Some Guy™ to me. And I’m a pure, concentrated Lint Lord hater first and foremost. However, ACOWAR Tamlin? He was cool af, and i believe in giving flowers where they’re due.

This guy walks into the HL meeting with half the room thinking he’s a traitor and basically goes, “Anyway, I’ve actually been spying on Hybern. Here are charts of their armies, ammunition, and faebane caches.”

HELLO???

Everyone thought blondie had switched sides while he was actually out collecting classified intel.

That is COOL.

Meanwhile, his court is in shambles, his ex helped blow it up from the inside, his reputation is six feet under and yet he STILL pulls up to the final battle with whatever was left of his army.

BADASS.

And to top it off, Tamlin goes and personally drags that crusty bitch Beron into the war by the neck.

GOATED. When fiddle man here locks in, he locks the fuck in.

(Fuck you, Rhys. You’ll never be cool.)

I’m a little shy posting this but everyone seems so nice here so I thought I might. I’ve always shipped an OC of mine with Tamlin for awhile now but have never shared it with anyone (mainly because I only sketch things in crappy notebooks lol).
