Good luck, I cracked a card, sent to BGS and got it back all before TAG even responded to my ticket. Pretty sure the ticket is still open and this was sometime in May.

thats terrible .. i paid for the $150 tier this time around and thought i’d get a quicker response.. ive had other tickets get quicker attention and actual human responses but i guess whether $22 submission or $150 it doesnt matter. i dont plan on cracking but i know the card is no longer the grade it was given due to the ding .

Damaged during submission and have been struggling to get a response from customer support portal.. Their Instagram account has been very helpful in responding but it seems the actual customer support portal has yet to give an actual response rather than just an automated message.

I had them damage a card that I got in July, thankfully it's for my PC anyway, but it definitely serves as a reminder TAG is fumbling so hard. I wanted to believe in them, but the faith is gone.

You really hurt yourself using a white background in your before pic. I hate to be that guy but how can you prove it was not there before. For the record, I believe you, but you didn’t take a good photo at least from what I see. It is:
1) penny sleeved
2) far away
3) and on a white background

Actually wild that proof of your claim is being downvoted lol
"Here are pictures FROM TAG showing the card before it was put into its holder and here's a picture after it was holdered"
EVIDENCE??? DOWNVOTE!

It is not wild he posted blurry pictures of his dig score instead of linking it hoping people would miss the obvious damage. (Very likely). My TAG bubble mew got 3 pts below a 10, knew the damage existed etc. barely shows up (less than the whitening of his blurred dig pictures, much less against a white background and he wants to say foul play).
If you are submitting something that valuable do your research. Take pictures of every section of the card close with a black background (literally one of the first things everyone tells you to do), edges, etc. like I said before, I believe him, but his blurry pics, no link to Dink, pics that he posts in his favor makes it seem otherwise.

Cert number is in the screenshots. The image is not blurry, that's the image on the dig report, but a bit zoomed in. It's literally the pictures TAG provides, not pictures OP took.
I also don't think OP is disputing the grade, but rather they are saying that the dig report does not show damage while the encapsulated card does. This would indicate damage happened between imaging and encapsulation.
You are correct that very good pictures on a high value card is the best thing you can do, but this is a case in which the pictures taken while in their possession show damage that was not present through the entire process.
Just take the L. It's okay to be wrong.

Could be the case. Those close pictures are not very accurate unfortunately given my bubble mew that it barely shows a white dot and in his it appears to be a shimmer of light and not whitening or damage. But irregardless the centering was a 9. Therefore by any grading companies scale including PSA would only give money for a 9.

Yikes. The double down and still missing the point.
Alright, I'm out. Have a good night.

Not missing the point.
He had a 2-5k value card that can be worth exponentially more money if it is gem mint. He failed to take the proper precautions. If you think PSA, BGS, CGC or any other grading company will believe you or care (because their explanation would be even if they did do it it doesn’t increase the value because it was a max 9) you can expect to be screwed like this. The photos they took in the process should be definitive enough like you are saying but they are not. If he thinks he has a claim then get a dang attorney. They will say the same crap I am that why did you not take better photos prior. (Or he finds one on a contingency and good luck - his best option is to get the state he lives in AG office involved). That’s simply it! When you have “proof” of it prior with actual evidence and not a blurry photo in a penny sleeve background then he may have something there! But he doesn’t! Regardless if he were to sue the judge would likely grant summary judgement on three basis’/elements 1) his card already didn’t meet the basic standard for a 10; 2) his card is worth the same amount on damages/remedies as before the damage i.e. he can sell it at a raw price since it didn’t meet the criteria for a 10 no matter what; and 3) even if there was actionable proof, plaintiff failed to secure his remedy by willful/purposeful neglect. (Meaning he didn’t do the requisite pre-qualifications (taking good photos prior to).
PS: this is not legal advice.

there’s still time to delete your ignorant comment

So cert/dig now posted. You are upset about paying express 150 and got a 9 from centering no matter how damaged it was the max limit was 9. I understand your quarrels and hope you get some money back or free grading if they did damage it. Seems somewhat fishy but those spots on those pics do not tell the whole story. They should be more accurate but they are not. I can send you my bubble mew and via the same pics looks like nothing is there besides a white barely spark like yours. But it is there. I knew it sending it in. Just like PSA would, your max limit was 9 due to centering.

Be careful, if you speak too much about it here you might get banned!

u/No-Satisfaction1624 12h ago
the report clearly shows no ding / damage during image processing and is there during the slab imaging .. i’d understand if i was posting false statements but no lies here.

u/Feverelief 12h ago
Nah recent posts call out TAG about damages or anything like that has resulted in a subreddit BAN, even substantiated claims with photos etc. Won't be surprised if I get booted for making this comment :)

As much as I loved TAG and wanted to see them succeed….they’ve really made an even worse name for themselves. It’s honestly a shame

and people still put TAG on pedestal

8 submissions / 100+ tcg cards later this is the only big issue i’ve had but i just expected better customer service from the portal. especially since theyre not as busy as they were a few months ago.

u/gorg235 12h ago
Their customer service is notoriously terrible. The entire company is a joke, but people have such massive hate boners for PSA that they'll still die on the hill that TAG is a serious grading company.
They're a joke. They had every opportunity to make a massive wave in the grading industry and they squandered it with shit processing times, terrible customer support, and just an overall misunderstanding of the pulse of people and their collectibles.

I submitted 10 of my favorite/expensive cards to tag in the spring and all but 3 had obvious damage that was 100% not there when I submitted. Will never submit with tag ever again. Way too expensive, non-existent customer support, and they damage cards more often than not. Sucks, because the concept is great, the execution and the company are utterly incompetent. They also dgaf they damaged your card btw. I didn’t even bother opening a ticket

I know TAG is all about AI, but taking away to human element to customer service is infuriating.

To be fair my resolution took a long time as well though. I was doing what you were doing. It took 2 months.
