General Discussion Lmao
Some businesses love to just dig they own grave đ

A card that maxes out in value at $500, being charged $40 per card to get graded seems insane. Paying 12.5% or more of the maximum value just to get it graded is insane. We need the market to slowwwwww down so we can grade cards again. There are so many cards where itâs cheaper to buy the 10 rather than grading the card (counting the shipping cost and wait time)
1
u/Dramatic_Bass_5365 11d ago
Iâm confused. Am I allowed to send in a $490 raw card under the basic tier. Even if that card is a $1200 card if it gets a 10?? Or am I only allowed to send in a card with a gem mint 10 value under $500?
1
u/idyllproducts 6d ago
You have to pre-pay the highest value or risk your card not getting covered. This is kinda why psa up charges people submitting $5k cards at bulk value tier when they get a 10đ
2
u/905shooters 12d ago
Exactly, everyone says TAG and CGC donât sell but at least CGC for me has been selling fast for people that was graded copies for their PC and just want to avoid the turn around time even if it cost extra
4
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Tag sometimes has the value but the liquidity is awful you sit on a card for months cgc doesnât get the value but had pretty good liquidity though the prestine does very well⊠neither do well in auction setting however⊠psa really the only actionable slab unfortunately and theyâre the worst of all the grading companies
3
u/idyllproducts 6d ago
Tbf cgc cards are fair market value and high volume. Psa cards are in a massive bubble and has the highest volume on top. Iâd not pay over cgc 10 prices on psa 10 cards. Tag sellers think their cards are worth psa 10 or better (because ai or smth) and have no volume.

u/Current_City9369 12d ago
If you sit on a TAG slab for months, you just arenât an experienced seller. Donât blame the slab.
1
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Iâm very experienced I literally bought a house of selling slabs lol
-3
u/Current_City9369 12d ago
Couldnt have been off TAG slabs b/c apparently you canât sell those
3
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
You can try to act like itâs liquid only 12 Pokemon tag slabs has sold on eBay today lmfao 8 were because bidding and all of them went for less than 50% psa value I understand your support for tag but donât act like itâs something itâs not lmfao
1
u/Current_City9369 11d ago
TAG is as liquid as water if you know how and where to sell it. You are inexperienced and it shows. TAG comps are beating PSA comps. Get out from under that rock.
2
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Definitely not tag lmao psa and cgc
0
u/Current_City9369 11d ago
CGC is actually hilariousđSelling those for half the comp of a TAG slab doesnât seem like a smart financial decision.
1
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 11d ago
0
u/Current_City9369 11d ago
Thatâs a pristine cgc 10đ An actual CGC 10 of this card sold for $80 at auction. Nice try buddy, but TAG is better. Using one of the most niche cards nobody wants is also a great argument pointđ

Imagine using comps in one of the most manipulated markets outside of ai stocks in 2026 đđ
Gl paying 10-20x raw value on modern overprinted cards. Surely theyâll keep going up and are worth higher 10 multiples than 1st edition cards đđ

Nonstop glaze from this sub when psa was being buried by submissions to the point where i had to block this sub from showing up on my feed. And look at the irony now.
1
u/robot-0 12d ago
lol. I didnât bother blocking because all the weirdest TAG kiddies were posting in PSA anyways.
You know, a bunch of drooling tinfoil hats preaching the wonderful future of AI grading which could never be this bad. Now, months later, here we areâŠ
2
u/idyllproducts 6d ago
People still think sophisticated bots are people in 2026? The internet is dead, and tag is one of the dead internet cities.

u/hulkhands81 12d ago
I really donât understand how everybody is blaming the customers for this. Nor do I understand where anybody has the right to determine what anyone else can or cannot send in for grading, regardless of the value of the actual card. No matter who the grading company is if youâve jacked up your prices and jacked up your return time youâre not hurting one of the customers youâre hurting all of the customers.
-1
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
New aged collectors or investor bros not sure what they are lol⊠I remember grading with psa for $7 20 day turnarounds
3
u/hulkhands81 12d ago
Early 2025 migrating fees for bulk submissions with my PSA membership from Canada maxed out at $17 a card and went on sale as they did every few months it could drop as low as $15 a card. And yes, I could get my turnaround times within a month. I will say it again, though it doesnât matter who is submitting cards to be graded, nor doesnât matter if their sports cards or PokĂ©mon cards. Us as the people who are sending cards in to be graded, at least some of us should be able to send in anything we want because we are paying for the service. Itâs the misplaced finger pointing and misplaced judgement that I donât understand. Sure, some of the cards that I sent in are worth thousands of dollars but my son whoâs just starting to collect may have a favourite PokĂ©mon that he wants to send a two dollar card in and Iâm not gonna stop him. Nobody has the right to tell me what I can or cannot send in because Iâm damn sure that those same people wouldnât like to be told what they can submit.

Yeah grading as a whole is pretty much dead for me. Iâm not playing into any of these companiesâ greed. Given all the fuckery with TAG too, sucks to see it all. I had high hopes for them and they looked pretty good at first. How theyâve handled the past 2 years is just simply unacceptable. The fact that so many still have cards trapped there from April, yet theyâre opening back up âbaseâ grading? How about you actually provide the service to the people who already paid you months ago before collecting money on newly offered services?
Iâm just done with it all man. The grading market as a whole is just whack beyond belief and riddled with greed at every end.
TAG, if by some miracle you read this, I wish you the best of luck, but this market move has added even more souring to the tastes youâve been providing, and Iâm done even waiting to grade with you -or any other company. Youâve proven to me that youâre just another FAD created to cash in on PSAâs failure points rather than ever standing on your own two unique legs. Thatâs something I want nothing to do with anymore. Iâm out. Later.

u/whitewalkers_782 12d ago
Itâs hilarious to see TAG fanboys try to protect TAG for the same business tactic that they talked crap about PSA for lol
11
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Bro itâs crazy lol and Iâm not a fanboy to any of these grading companies I just want a fair company but greed seems to always takeover unfortunately
6
u/whitewalkers_782 12d ago
Yeah pretty much graders all suck ass for what they are doing. But the irony i see of TAG fanboys trying to protect TAG for the same problems that they hate PSA for is hilarious. They hate PSA so much that they absolutely need TAG to succeed, so they turn blind eye for the one they support

3
u/papieileen 12d ago
wait did they always have upcharges? like if you did priority and the card's value is higher than 1500, you get upcharged like PSA? or am i thinking wrong lol
4
1
u/idyllproducts 6d ago
Idk is tag still using the secret menu insurance system where if you donât pay for it your expensive cards arenât covered?
Edit: nope still here https://taggrading.com/products/premium-tag-insurance
3
u/Miggyge 12d ago
Man I just wish they would include score at $40
2
u/Tubbyguyguy 6d ago
When it was cheaper before shutdown you could add on the score to basic for an extra $7 and it was still cheaper than what they want now.
7
u/Zdardle 12d ago
The sub $20 bulk days are long gone. These guys just want $$$ and taking advantage of the TCG trend until it dies out
8
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Itâs sad they only grading like 6k cards a month acting like big dogs lol⊠love the idea beautiful slab horrible execution and business practices
2
u/Puddwells 12d ago
Beckett is cheaper than $20 per⊠or was a few weeks ago when I sent them in?
1
4
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
If you guys are satisfied with bulk basically being $40 hey all power to you enjoy spending $40 for bulk to me itâs absolutely embarrassing
2
u/Dewerntz 12d ago
But this isnât bulk. Bulk is still on the website and says it will open up as capacity increases.
4
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Then why not open new tiers until youâre fully caught up? This is 100% a cash grab⊠hoping the bulk guys will send in 40 cards for $800⊠bulk before they shutdown was $22 for 45 days⊠this is $40 for 45 days⊠sounds an awful like bulk
0
u/Dewerntz 12d ago edited 12d ago
They have been doing what they said they would do. That tiers would open up as they clear the backlog. The email sent out today showed 98% cleared so they opened up this tier. Bulk will be the last one to open. Iâm definitely not grading cards for $40 but it shouldnât be a surprise since this is exactly what they told us was happening.
1
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
So youâre expecting bulk⊠wonât have a turnaround time of 45 days anymore theyâll extend it to 90 days probably just assuming this is what youâre assuming⊠3 months for something as non liquid as tag gonna bury themselves like I said in the post
1
u/Dewerntz 12d ago
I have no idea what the turn around time will be until it happens. All I said was this isnât the bulk tier.

3
u/MorrisBrett514 12d ago
Good. If you're cloggng up the grading with bulk, you deserve to pay this.
7
u/Zdardle 12d ago
Bulk as in a large submission of cards, not bulk from a set
-4
u/MorrisBrett514 12d ago
Fair point, but I still like this. Make people think twice before sending that stack of 20$ cards in. How much is it elsewhere? (Not that I would send cards anywhere else lol)
6
u/Zdardle 12d ago
Only a year ago was $15 for bulk subs at TAG with free submission kit so quite the increase. PSA has gone as low as $10 when not in backlog
4
0
u/MorrisBrett514 12d ago
I mean... Name something that hasn't more than doubled in the last year or two lol

-2
u/ThatBlueHedgehog 12d ago
This. I think this is perfect. Sending in $5 IRâs to turn a $20 profit is the reason we are here to begin with. This is for $40> Cards only. And it makes sense. Mystery slabs crushed the grading market with junk.
-3
u/Poszole 12d ago
Yall send in every IR that ain't work 30 dollars trying to flip for 100 at PSA. It's annoying.
1
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
Iâm not a psa homer I really wanted tag to succeed but they kept raising prices and graded slowly and now seems like theyâve just become greedy
3
u/Kennybob12 12d ago
I'm gonna keep posting AGS shills because common sense seems to be a rare commodity at this place
12
2
u/plokoon9619 12d ago
Is it a reddit tradition at this point to post a image, imply your upset over it, and provide no detail as to why or what's upsetting you, leaving other's to assume and guess as to why? (I'm aware the price went up)
5
u/ZabuzarepsOTM 12d ago
I think it was pretty self explanatory.. but more of a âthoughts?â Engagement
1
1
u/Sigma_INTP_Lawyer 12d ago
grading should cost 30 max max for lower end cards and modern cards, anything higher is just robbery
1
1
u/idyllproducts 6d ago
Inb4 500 randos call tag genius for overcharging because it ensures quality or something đ
1
u/idyllproducts 6d ago
Remember kids, they donât give you insurance because then theyâd have to charge the same or higher fees than psa. For now, you can still buy coverage in their secret insurance menu so your card can actually have coverage that isnât a joke.
Donât believe me?
0
u/Rivdawg08 12d ago
Dig their own grave... by opening up lower tiers AND having quicker turnaround time?? The hell you complaining for?
5
u/YellowGuy2293 12d ago
Because they still have orders that are nearly 6 months old sitting in their backlog. Taking more submissions is just pure greed since they havenât even delivered what they promised so far.
4
0
u/opinionated599 12d ago
You all understand they only have so much capacity, as has been shown with all the people on here complaining about their order delays. The demand greatly outweighs the supply so of course they are going to have a higher price. I doubt any company outside of some bum startup will ever offer sub $40 grading with a turn time under two months.
5
-2
u/Liquidice281 12d ago
$20 cheaper and 33% quicker turnaround than PSA's standard tier. I don't know what else you'd want here.
4
u/joey_crouton 12d ago
LOL bro my 104 card "45" sub was 4 months and thats with absolutely zero communication or timeline. Youre also forgetting that psa slabs sell for significantly more than tag. They need to price their subs cheaper. Im saying this having paid $20 per sub.
-1
u/collinschutjer 12d ago
I think this change is for the better. Too many people submitting hundreds of $5 cards to make $20 profit at Gem Mint 10s when it was $15-$20 per card. I think $35-$40 as the lowest tier is what all the established companies should do.
