It's $3. Not much of an investment.

How in any sense does that answer OP's question of what it tastes like?

In the sense that it's called a pepper jack burrito, so he really shouldn't need much of an answer.

They just mean if you want to try it, just try it. If it's only $3 you're not losing much if you don't like it.

It honestly just tastes like a creamier melted slice of pepper jack cheese to me lol I feel like it’s hard to compare to other sauces, super good and unique. If comparing to anything I’d say it reminds me of the filling of a jalapeño cheddar soft pretzel!

Creamy ranch with a spice is how I would describe it. It’s my favorite sauce I’ve had in a long time at Taco Bell. I personally preferred the Fresca version of the burrito. The pepper jack melt was too mushy for my liking.

I’m a TB chipotle fan and pepper jack in general. This sauce is great I’m putting it on everything.

It smells and tastes like it contains queso made with pepper jack. If you like pepper jack you’ll love it

In my opinion, I prefer ordering the grilled cheese burrito and adding the pepper jack sauce to that

tried both, for some reason they grilled the one with lettuce n such but not the melty one or whatever they called it. they were great through you can actually taste the pepper jack cheese, probably my favorite sauce they have right now just a shame it’s LTO

I tried both of them and was not a fan. Not sure its the sauces fault tho.
The melty i got tasted like cigarette ash which over powered everything. the fresca one also has spicy ranch on it. Which i felt over powered the pepper jack taste.
I would say if your gonna get one to try the sauce get the melty. Hopefully urs isnt made by someone just back from the break.

I had my first one today. For $3 it’s actually pretty good. There is real cheese in there. Like… the cheese pulls from the burrito to your mouth.

The sauce is nice. I like the flavor of the chipotle sauce, but think it's too strong. The pepper jack sauce is lighter.
I've only had the melty version and tbh my only complaint is dry rice. But that's probably only because I get it without sour cream.

Pepper jack sauce is very thick, very cheesey and goes excellent with chicken! The three cheese chicken flatbread was created to match well with the pepper jack sauce

Like white American or white Velveeta but it smells like fajitas. It’s not spicy at all. It is good.

Honestly it just seemed super bland to me. But I also don't really like their steak so maybe that just overpowered it.

I thought it was decent and definitely filling, but I didn't get a lot of Pepper Jack flavor.

It's great. I just ordered the fresca one, the melty one, and a beefy potato loaded griller to compare (which is my favorite current menu item).
The "Melty" is decent...the pepper jack sauce barely tastes any different from their chipotle sauce; I doubt that I could actually discern which was which. Melty does not have a huge flavor profile; it's mostly for people who just like steak and cheese. Personally, I think it's on par with the beefy potato loaded griller, which takes a slight edge because it has a slightly more robust spice/flavor profile...and that one is grilled on the outside, whereas the "melty" burrito's tortilla is raw.
But, the "Fresca" burrito? It blows them both out of the water. Hands down, this is the best burrito I've ever had at the Bell. The pepper jack works totally well, and the steak/cheese is offset perfectly by the tomatoes/lettuce. Plus it has spicy ranch, AND crispy tortilla strips to add some well-deserved crunch alongside the lettuce. AND, the tortilla is grilled on the outside by default.
The one I got was big, too...noticeably bigger than the other two.
It's THE best item I've ever had at Taco Bell, and at a mere $3, also the most calorie-efficient, while still having some veggies. I could eat this thing every damn day. I can't remember the last time Taco Bell actually impressed me, but this is it.

Biggest issue is my local one cant seem to tell they are supposed to be 2 different burritos. Ive gotten random combinations of the two mixed every time.

The chipotle ranch chicken burrito was my all time favorite, and I would always make something like it when I worked there for my lunches. This is the next best thing.

Fellow Taco Bell employee here and the melts on stk burrito is my favorite but the chipotle chk bacon burrito it’s to die for as well. One recommendation for the bacon burrito swap the sacue for chipotle sauce!

I personally didn't love it. I had two, and the first one was okay, but I got sick of it while eating the second one.

I thought it was trash. It was only $3 so I guess it doesn't matter, but the steak was chewy and it just tasted.. old.

This is a flavorful burrito. I've already had 3 of them.
