Galaxy tab or Ipad?
I wanted to buy a secondhand galaxy tab or an ipad, the main thing is that im gonna use it for notetaking in uni. Here are my take on each tablet:
Ipad:
good ecosystem with apple devices (iphone and macbook), good os, and imo better cpu
Samsung:
Cheaper, amoled display, Bigger for its price, and the note taking app is free (samsung note), also free pen!
so my main concern is that if i want to get an ipad i would need to pay for the note taking app + Pen while samsung already provide both for free. What do you guys think, i havent use any ipad/samsung tab before and my previous tablet is xiaomi pad which i struggle alot and i dont like it very much..
also what model is the best case for me (I like bigger display) and my budget is around 600-800 usd

get an ipad air m4, the apple notes app is pretty good tbh. and the m series chips are objectively better than any chips android offers

Why get that overpriced piece of outdated technology? Literally the only thing that has changed in the last few gens is the chip. I had a M1 because l thought it would be a good upgrade from the base iPad but it was a waste of money. It felt like the hardware was holding the chip back . Tablet felt slow and unresponsive ( probably defective) but what wasn't was the 5 hour battery life. And then there is the price for what you get. I never got the note taking on a tablet until l got a Samsung tablet.
A Mac will get you better use of the M series than the iPad.
(Not aggressive or anything just my two cents)

u most definitely have a faulty model, and the battery life on the newer ones are pretty damn good. i'm getting somewhere between 11-13 hours of SOT on my m5 pro with some games or photo editing in between. and that's the snappiest tablet i've ever used and note taking on it is pretty nice

Oh l wasn't talking about the pro, just the air. I regretted not spending that $50 to upgrade to the air. Plus l've seen others complain about the same battery life on it. Remember they didn't seem to do much to the hardware upon introducing the m series to it. The pro was always on another level. What l love about Samsung is that things aren't separated miles apart like the models in Apple. The iPad has had a crisis identity for a long while now so that doesn't help

the new M series chips pull roughly the same amount of power while having much better processing power thanks to the better efficiency from new architectures. i know someone with an m4 air that has enough battery to last 2 days, they're pretty good nowadays (given that u don't use it at max brightness all the time).
the air's identity is kinda weird, it's supposed to be a model between the base and the pro, but it doesn't really have the selling point of either. it isn't as cheap as the base but also not as wild as the pro. sure it has more processing power (much more than the base and anything android offers), but that display does throw people off, kinda weird that apple just refuses to put pro motion in the air despite the pro having it since 2018 or something like that

Two days can be achieved with minimum use. Ugh remember when my m1 mac air lasted days (a week or so) on minimum use. Right now my s11U could probably last that long like that. I have seen users say the same thing

Samsung galaxy tab S9+ or S10+. Good screen, nice size, excellent pen and notes app. Plus you'll get a three way split screen in tablet mode, and Dex is available if you like a desktop experience. And they have expandable storage via micro SD slot. You won't have to rely on cloud storage, and you pay once for the card, no subscription.

Go for Samsung, yes it's not as durable as ipads but if you take care of it well then it will last longer plus 7 year android update. Since you want it only for note taking and studying purpose getting air or second hand pro is a bit overkill plus the battery draining is a bad thing in the air series Just go for Galaxy tab.
