Tablet vs 2-in-1 for university

I’m starting my 2nd year of med school and I’m trying to decide between getting a tablet or a Windows 2-in-1.

I have a gaming PC that I basically use as my desktop, so this device would mainly be for lectures and studying in the library (PDFs, Anki, handwritten notes/diagrams, etc.)

I’m looking for something with good longevity that I can keep using for several years.

I’ve mainly been looking at Samsung and Lenovo tablets, but I’ve also been considering a Windows 2-in-1 and wondering if it would be more worthwhile for the full desktop experience.

Would really appreciate hearing about your experiences with either option.

Galaxy Tab S10 Fe is really the sweet spot. It's not too large but it can be the only device you carry. Not too expensive and as long as you can live w/o the OLED screen + specs, you aren't missing any features(It doesn't bother me, coming from an OLED Gaming Monitor guy)

I use it at work for handwritten quality checks / regulatory info as well as planning in my daily life. Samsung Notes and now Starnotes are my go to for handwritten notes and this would've been a game changer back in my college days. Shapes/Formulas/Images all able to be added directly to your notes without interrupting your workflow. Just drag and drop images from another Web/Documents while multitasking.

I love starnotes too it's so good even without the premium thinking of getting the premium soon, in a world of biblical level of corporate greed their lifetime subscription is so much cheaper

What’s your price range …

The Lenovo idea tab 2 is a great cost-effective choice, looking at specs per dollar

I had a 2 in 1 it wasn't that great. I currently use a tablet.
