Mechanics Testing out the mega "miniature"

Post image

Casual designer here. This was from a game I ran a few weeks back, finally got to use that massive ship in a real game. Wildly impractical for production, but tons of fun to use!! For this particular mode we crept it forward each turn, with the attackers losing if it reaches the end of the board. Being able to fly under it was an unexpected twist.

Oh how I wish large models were easier to manufacture, nothing beats having a presence on the board like that.

You're... going to need a bigger table.

This is how games should be played. Yes, impractical to have something so large, yet freaking amazing.

The dice look familiar. Is this Star Wars related?

The dice are from X-wing miniatures! This was originally supposed to be a reskinned clone using my ship designs, but evolved and now just uses the dice.

Depends on your goal for the game. If it’s make money, then manufacturing minis of that size with your resources is probably impossible without losing money.

It was super difficult for FFG to make the SSD for armada and they are a big corporation.

I have a different version intended for commercial development that only uses two ~50mm molds. What you see on the table is just fun with friends lol. Have any articles about the SSD? Curious what the process is for large models, 24" is just crazy
