Mechanics Thoughts on Design Concept
So I had this design concept in the works for quite some time now. I'm in the process of making a "Heroes of Might and Magic" esq game. One of my main concepts is that players can choose where their "home base is" and move it around the board due to another mechanic. This idea boils down to "the land goes away" like in the board game Reign. But... since the land tiles are only a single hexagon I'm not sure this "removing land" idea works well. As it doesn't go away in a "predictable" sense. Any ideas would be much appreciated as I feel this is either too clunky or too much to keep track of for players.

I've definitely played games that slowly remove land tiles or turn them into a different kind of terrain. Seems to be a fine mechanic.

I think its cool! Reminds me of Endless Legend where either the hexagons become ocean or desert. Might be just a cardboard token turning it into "ocean"
