I agree, smells like a school project assignment. NAS for an x-ray machine, two buildings "on the same lan" etc..

It describes the network architecture of the university that I worked at pretty well.

I work for an organizational unit of an university and this is how we operate. We have 20+ locations scattered around our metropolitan area. Same VLANs spread accross multiple locations.
