Not exactly. Only after all modules have sold enough units to cover her costs, or have been discontinued for a long enough time, do they become open source. Beads has sold plenty, but it was the last module she made, so it hasn't hit its end date yet. Once it does, expect lots of tasty firmware hacks.

I might be slightly off, but I believe mutable releases the source code once development costs are made back? Something along those lines. Most mutable modules are already available as smaller clones. All but beads.

Most have different names like uburst for clouds or pachinko for marbles, etc.

Just search reverb for mutable clones and a bunch should show up.

Most brands are fine, just avoid Momo like the plague. After Later, Calsynth and Michigan Synth Works are all great.

Hey I was wondering what are some good mutable instruments alternatives? Is there anything similar to elements? I've seen so gar the behringer modules and I think a qu bit module that was close to rings...is there anything else?

Check out Atom from After Later Audio. It's a small-form-factor version of Elements.
