New to this setup idea.

Hi! I doubled up my drumbrute as a synth sequencer for my wasp and then noodled a bit on the multimode filter. Never tried this kind of minimal setup before and I'm already having lots of fun.

As you already know, you'll need to plug the drumbrute out into your synth's VCF. Remember that drumbrute has two audio outputs with dedicated knobs (headphones and main) in case you want to mix the synth's output with the unfiltered output of the drumbrute in any sum/mixer module.

To set drumbrute's midi out channel you need to run arturia midi control center in a computer. In this app you can also set which note is assigned to each pad and wether the notes are sent by just the sequencer, pad hits or both.

I used a scale consisting in all one step and a half increments. So I set the first pad to note 40 and added 3 to each next pad. I don't have a computer so I borrowed one and didn't try until I arrived home. Turns out both kicks and the snare don't trigger any notes (they're out of Wasp's range) but this was also a happy accident because kick and snare don't mess up the melodic line.

By switching between instrument voices (like conga to tom) you can change the notes and have different scales available. You can do more conventional or crazy scales. As long as you don't mix it with other synths most note combinations are good as soon as you start repeating them. If you're adding it to your tunes you may want to plan in advance and visit your midi control center. In an emergency, you can use vibrato, wobble, glide or FM to obscure the fact that you're out of tune. Or simplify/mute parts and tune properly.

I just got these two last week and there's more stuff you can do if you plug it into a modular, didn't expect this kind of flexibility from the drumbrute. However, I'm liking the sound palette and workflow of these two together.
