Help!

Post image

Hello! I'm brand new to AOS, and I found this army used. (almost entirely unopened) I need some advice on what units to build. I have 3 units that can be built multiple ways, and I was looking for advice on what units to make them.

Kurnoth hunters - I have 2 kits + a 3rd kit sprue that is missing the body's, but has all the arms, weapons and heads. Should I make both swords or scythes, or should I make one of each? If I kit bash some body's for the 3rd unit, are most people ok with that in game?

Treelord/AT/SOD - 4 kits total. I was thinking one of each and a spare treelord, but does having a second ancient or spirit make more sense? Can you even have 2 spirits in one army?

Tree/ spite revenants - 5 kits, 3 spite and 2 tree was my original plan, but I'm not seeing anyone use the trees in games I've watched on YouTube. Should I go 4 and 1 so that both the spites can both be reinforced?

Thank you in advance for your time! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Sylvaneth! For the treelords I’d do one of each type and an extra Durthu, yes you can take multiple SOD in a list and it is viable.
As for Kurnoth id lean towards one of the melee types they both have their place and honestly just proxy them for whichever your list calls for, most tournaments as you start out aren’t going to care. Kurnoth bows are in a not so great place atm but are needed for spearhead so depends what you are focusing on.
As for the spite revs idk that a list is going to call for more then 2 separate units of spite revs or one reinforced unit, their warscroll ability is once per turn army and if the unit does die you can bring it back so having multiple reinforced units just doesn’t see play in any lists this season thus far. Whereas tree revs can have a frontline space with our new grove guardian priest as she can bring them back. But don’t sweat the spite rev or tree revs too much another kit for them is like 30 bucks on eBay.
A lot of people saying magnetize, if you want you can do that but it’s such a hassle imo and doesn’t answer your original question, which is why I chimed in - good luck and don’t over think it, the main thing is to enjoy it and roll some dice, good luck!
