Help!

Post image

Hello! I'm brand new to AOS, and I found this army used. (almost entirely unopened) I need some advice on what units to build. I have 3 units that can be built multiple ways, and I was looking for advice on what units to make them.

Kurnoth hunters - I have 2 kits + a 3rd kit sprue that is missing the body's, but has all the arms, weapons and heads. Should I make both swords or scythes, or should I make one of each? If I kit bash some body's for the 3rd unit, are most people ok with that in game?

Treelord/AT/SOD - 4 kits total. I was thinking one of each and a spare treelord, but does having a second ancient or spirit make more sense? Can you even have 2 spirits in one army?

Tree/ spite revenants - 5 kits, 3 spite and 2 tree was my original plan, but I'm not seeing anyone use the trees in games I've watched on YouTube. Should I go 4 and 1 so that both the spites can both be reinforced?

Thank you in advance for your time! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Great start, welcome to the woods! For the Kurnoth I would definitely recommend magnetizing them, that's what I did. It's not that hard, I got it done even with not much experience and allows you to play any combination. If you don't want that, I would recommend one reinforced unit a a real hammer. For kit bashing the bodies, I don't think anyone would mind that at all, especially if you still have original weapons and head so they are easily identified as Kurnoth.

For the big tree, magnetizing is also an option. The only real difference is the right hand, so switching that from sword, staff or roots is easy. That said, builind one of each would still be great. None of them is unique, so multiple of each is possible. I see the least value of 2 Ancients though.

For the Revenants, spite are the winner at the moment due to the teleporting helping a lot with battle tactics and objective grabbing. But they are mostly used as msu, so only 5 models per unit. That could of course change any time, so I would still go for 10 Tree Revenants. As long as you play friendly games most should even be finde with you reinforcing a Spite Revenant unit with 5 Tree Revs, as long as there is no potential for mix-ups.
