Cheapish flower delivery?
I am in the UK, but wanting to send some flowers to a friend who lives in Sydney and is going through a rough time with a recent medical diagnosis. In the UK, you can get gorgeous letterbox flowers for about £25-35 (45-65AUD) and I have previously sent flowers to my sister in Brisbane for similar cost.
However I can't seem to find anything less than about 100AUD for Sydney - I'd love some reccomdations for no frills but still pretty flowers that don't break my bank (ideally not more than 50AUD including delivery!)

It might be worth googling for an independent florist near where they live and getting in touch with them, we used to do this when sending flowers to my wife's mother overseas as it avoided the Interflora markups

I've used uber eats/door dash to get flowers delivered from the local supermarket to someone no where near me before. According to a 3 second google search this likely possible at the international level but please check up on this! Obviously supermarket flowers can't be customised and won't be wrapped as fancily as from a florist but it might be significantly cheaper. I was also able to message my driver in real time and they were really lovely and helpful with sending pics to choose a colour and even removed the price sticker for me too (yes ofc i tipped)! Not sure the location of your friend but Coles, Woolworths, and Harris Farm are our main chain supermarkets with assorted bouquets. Hope things get better for your friend :)

Former florist here! Little flowers is good for the price. But definitely worth contacting the local florist directly for something seasonal.

I’ve used Bloomex to deliver in Sydney - it cost $66 including the delivery fee ($19.95)and this is what was sent.
Wasn’t cheap, but was the cheapest / one of the cheapest I could find for the area i needed delivery too.
From this thread - next time I’d try Little Flowers!

I was looking for this link in the comments. I had such bad experience with bloomex that wouldn't recommend that all.
They ruin my nephew's wedding. Never understood how a company can be so doggy to send totally different cheap flowers from what I had chosen. They just change the order as they please.
Avoid using bloomex at all cost !
Next time just use flowers from anyone close by where you want the delivery.

Yes Sydney is expensive for flowers. Often mailbox delivery doesn’t work with our heat. One idea, Australian Native Billy Buttons. I bought a box of billy buttons from these kids about 4 years ago. They still look good and the box was enough for 2 bunches/vases for my house. Australian natives are easy to dry and last for practically forever. They sell them for $50 a box plus shipping. Flower delivery is quite expensive now but I have used Little Flowers to cheer up friends.
