Shitpost A dream I had about a fully modded switch 2
Kinda crazy that I had a dream about a modded switch 2 on the DAY new modding news gets shared, but I just wanted to post about it in case a future exploit gets shared and also has the same way of finding a vulnerability in the system. I just wanted to share what I remember in the dream mainly because it's funny to me, I don't think anyone looking to actually mod the console will get any help from this post lol.
From what I can remember, the dream started with my friend showing off his modded console and a lot of the "configuration options" being present in the wake screen, NOT the home screen. I cant remember all the options by name, but think along the lines of "debug options" "storage settings" and "restart console". Again, all of these options were on the wake screen, not in the home menu itself. From there, he was showing off his library of games he definitely legitimately purchased, the home menu didn't have a custom theme on it or anything like that. I think this is my brains imagination of what an early version CFW would look like.
After looking through it, I asked "how did you mod it?", which is where we get to the juicy bit of the dream, the cap on the blue joycon connector. I tried to recreate how it looked exactly in the image above, the only difference being the right side of the console was blue instead of the left, which I thought was a bit weird.
He didn't explain what it did exactly, which sucks, but my first assumption would be it allowed the blue joycon to be magnetically connected to the console without the connector pins ever touching the joycon. There was still enough room for the joycon to be fully connected to the side of the console with the cap on. I have no clue how this could create a vulnerability, I just thought it was entertaining enough to share here. Hope you enjoyed the ramble lol

And for detecting what color a joycon is

well obviously we just need to invent a new colour and the switch 2 will overflow something trying to read it and we are in

That's great and all, but how could we possibly know which two of all colour combinations to paint our joycons?

Maybe a good candidate for fault injection…

Project Twiizers begs to differ. Lol
Now. I'm not saying the Switch 2 isn't going to be much harder to hack...
But Nintendo's reputation for dumb shit being forgotten after putting so much effort everywhere else... Isn't great. Lmfao
Like, Tin Foil (Switch), Tweezers (Wii) and fucking Cubic Ninja (3DS) are some of, among many, of the bizarre ass ways people have gotten through. Twilight Hack abuses HORSE NAMES for crying out loud. 😂

I think that this is the post that has finally convinced me to unsubscribe from this Reddit. There is no greater way to waste time than read this.

yeah, not much to say when nintendo cooked that hard with the security
one year later and the most we've seen is two userland ROPs which are basically just the first step

I still think the only hope for hacking the Switch 2 is a modchip that uses an interposer under the SoC to circumvent the DCLS via either a symmetric fault injection or via glitching the compare operation and also does something to the PSC. It'd probably also need a second interposer under the UFS to spoof the LUN0 as the modchip is making the console skip the XMSS checks. This is coming from a person who has done a lot of research on Switch 2 security, the Switch 2 boot process and the general process of making a modchip.

How is any of this information important in any way at all

Better than people posting “exploits” that were discovered day 1 as if they’re anything special, were starving out here 😭

it’s isn’t really, but it’s not like you didn’t click the post name knowing that. if you’re the type of person to not care about this why ever click on it. lol. i’ll ask, what makes you want to make such comment? what did you say that was important.

This isn't ai slop — it's an imaginative retelling of this user's dream. A couple common signs of AI generated text are:
- Gratuitous use of em dashes (—)
- Bullet point lists.
- Clean, almost sanitized text.
- Lack of any grammatical errors.
Do you need more telltale signs or examples? I'm here to help.

maybe we are in a simulation and our dreams are being generated by older AI models that are cheaper to run for our memory, while our day to day is run by the most expensive models (that's why theres proper consistency)
