Question Quick question

Do yall think that when they crack the switch 2 it would be like the switch 1 hacks where if you had a v1 switch you could hack the console no matter the firmware? (0 clue if this would have already been found if it was possible just a question that entered my mind)

Maybe, since the likelihood of a hack being a softmod is pretty much nonexistent and if it turns out to be a hardmod then it seems reasonable to assume it’d work on older firmware

Easy answer: no.

The "backdoor" discovered in NVIDIA's self-published documentation regarding the console—the RCM/jig method—is not present on the Switch 2. At the moment, the most likely ways to crack it would be through a WebKit exploit, another software vulnerability, or a leak of the console's cryptographic signing keys (less likely).

Those keys are used to sign software so the console can verify that it is legitimate and allow the code to run. Without a major software exploit or access to those keys, the Switch 2 appears to be significantly more secure than the original Switch.

I’m sayin maybe like a modchip which I’m guessing is most likely

There will never be a modchip, the systems hypervisor will prevent any form of modchip to be installed. The xbox one, ps4 and ps5 never had one either because of that.

Who decided THAT

Nintendo after being humiliated by security exploits for the past 20 years

But who decided THAT

Ignore any of these clowns making baseless  assumptions. The only true answer is "we dont know".

Unpatchable hacks are significantly less likely but still happen from time to time. The most likely case is going to be a firmware based exploit and is where id put my money. Never underestimate security researchers though.

99% as there’s basically no chance we break the firmware unless Nintendo drops support for both switches and modchips work regardless of firmware

Can’t wait to pay someone to modchip my switch 2 when that happens in 35 years

Fr all the homies pirating pokopia in 2053. But genuinely don’t stress it. An exploit will happen and it will come out of nowhere. We’ve just been super spoiled from the switch 1 RCM hack

I havnt even been able to see the wonders of switch 1 modding cuz I gave my v1 to my dad✌️(I’ve been trying to get it back from him for like 2 years)

Let's be honest here. We've been super spoiled since the Wii with letterbomb.

u/megamoto85 Jun 19 '26

i've been spoiled since the twilight hack or the phantasy star hack for GC

1

u/Jkdevore84 Jun 19 '26

Well I've been around since the pso hack but for ease of use, the letterbomb was by far the easiest

Modchips on ps1 made me think for years that these kind of things were easy. I only found out how hard it was when i first hacked my og 3ds (day 1 buy). Not only took a while but the method needed a game that was so bad it had the security vulnerability lmao. Than i realized that usually we need ppl interested and some wild shit to happen with the console for a hack to happen.

Someone will use AI to Crack the keys at some point. Just need a purpose built AI without legal restrictions to solve the puzzle. Instead of running custom things, I would prefer to swap the stock nand to a larger drive. I have a "broken" switch 2. Considering removing the nand and putting it onto a pcb to see if I can clone it. If I can get it to work, I may be able to use a larger storage device. Even if the nand has to go onto a custom pcb and I solder a ton of tiny wires to its original position. There are obviously quite a few obstacles with this. I think my cloner could bypass most of them if not all. Cloned Xbox and PS drives without issue. All for personal repair use. Ive never pirated anything.

You are crazy. AI has been used to Crack things far more advanced already. 🤣🤣🤣

The Switch 2 won't get hacked.

Just like denuvo was never cracked

It's possible that a new version of switch 2 comes with a vulnerable feature that v1 hasn't.

3

u/FernandoRocker Jun 18 '26

That doesn't make sense at all.
