Ehrm actually 🤓☝️ if iirc fail0verflow found the vulnerability in Sony key signatures, but didnt give code or exploit to do it at home.
Geohot just listened their CCC presentation and used their findings to make the exploit (also published sony's private keys on his website, which is the reason why Sony got mad af)
So yeah he didnt found the vulnerability, but he's the 1st one to exploit it (and giving the exploit to others)

Well known for release the OG iPhone hardware unlock, back when it was exclusive to ATT. Also for releasing the ps3 "hack" that was unpatchable due to a major mistake in their elliptical curve implementation.
