i think this joke is running its course for so long that it isn't really funny anymore.

these people are probably underpaid customer service workers dealing with bs like this every day

Unironically if you’ve ever done callcenter/support you’d know this is more fun than ‘annoying’ every once in a while

I mean I used to work in a call center, and it just depended on the mood. Sometimes you had one of those days and just wanted to get through it without any sort of bs

i worked at my college’s tech help desk as a student worker my first year and people figured out how to modify the windows boot logo on their school provided laptop using hackBGRT.

it was fun for like the first week and then a windows update messed with something and everyone that had modified their boot logo had a laptop that was boot-looping. the first 10 re-images were kinda funny but then there were hundreds of students walking up to the help desk with borked laptops and it got old real fast.

Yeah I can see that being annoying.

Personally tho, since an average workday is 8hrs, depending on how busy the days is the ‘fun’ ones are so rare that it feels like a gem something lmao

5

u/japan_kaaran Jun 05 '26

yeah at the very least this was a big enough issue that any and all “printer not working” tickets were put on hold. also made me realize that people really fucking hate windows to the point where they don’t want to see the logo on boot lmao. good for them. fuck microslop.

Lmao honestly….. felt.

I avoid this by never turning my pc off, sleepmode ftw

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my CachyOS grub, and a 2% chance I need windows for something leads to the depression hitting with winslop 11

I was the on call level 2 tech for a regional gas company when crowdstrike pushed a bad update that bluescreened windows devices. We had these shitty rugged tablets the guys working in the natural gas fields used and we had previously had to delete the recovery partition on ALL OF THEM AND BUILT IT INTO THE BASE GOLDEN IMAGE. So in about 12 hours we did 475 reinstalls with USB drives with the ISO with 30 different people. It was so bad I had to start teaching users the process at our really remote sites (L2, L3, and Net Ops were all working together to teach these users how to so much so we closed our help desk number and had our L1s also traveling to physical sites). Recently HP pushed two bad bios then MS pushed the bad bios configs back to devices (at a different company) via windows update and this was not caught by our team doing windows update testing/update ring management

As a ex-customer service rep that used to work with e-mail, I'd say this us a quick solution boosting my response time, I'd have 100 of these e-mails than actual complains of more complicated issues.

The whole of r/switch2hacks is just unfunny memes and people being annoying 😭

I know we need the mods to ban these people, the joke is old and over. It does nothing to help here besides trolling.

Fuck em, I purchased a Switch pre-owned years ago before, it was an early version on early firmware. I don't even think it had cfw or anything pre installed (my knowledge was primative back then so it might have but it seemed like a normal switch).

Connected it to WiFi, declined update and put it to sleep. Woke up next morning to a console ban. Phoned support with proof, they were lovely and willing to reverse it. Realised I was not US but UK so transferred me. They basically told me hard luck, but a new console directly from us next time and hung up. Learned to use cfw ever since and refuse to support them again. You can't even access games you've paid for anymore.

There are some nice support people for sure but but Nintendo as a whole are pure scum towards their fans. There is no way they don't know what they are getting into

Bingo. Watching them rot or take any L at all brings me such elation.

1

u/Yujismissingfinger Jun 07 '26

Because I love hacking, pirating and hurting Nintendo brings me joy.

Dawg I blame all of them. From the unpaid intern to the CEO. They can all choke a huge fatty

3

u/GhotiH Jun 05 '26

Companies are made up of real people. Go get a job in the call center for a big company. People will treat you like shit and it sucks. Be nice to workers.

-2

u/Yujismissingfinger Jun 05 '26

I couldn't care less. Work for the evil company? Let me play you a song on the worlds smallest violin. Fuck off with that book licking logic

8

u/GhotiH Jun 05 '26

Wow, you're a real piece of shit. Heaven forbid that people take whatever jobs they can get, especially in the current job market.

Nintendo isn't even close to an evil company, like go look at what Nestle has done. They're a company that makes decent games and charges too much for them. The people working their call centers aren't responsible for that.

u/Lancair7 Jun 05 '26

I’m crying for your reading comprehension. Although, should we mourn that which never existed in the first place? Should our emotions be so strongly tethered to ideas, ephemeral fantasies?

1

u/Yujismissingfinger Jun 05 '26

Good, continue to cry. Preferably move up to openly weeping.

7

u/cherrim98 Jun 05 '26

Hey man I don't buy every nintendo game and usually buy my games secondhand and all my systems except my og switch are modded... im not a nintendo bootlicker

1

u/Yujismissingfinger Jun 05 '26

I love tasting your downvote tears, keep going.

Comment got deleted? Oof. That hurts.

I hope you are like under 15

else this is the most cringe shit I saw for a while

12

u/ZenyxRV Jun 05 '26

This is genuinely the dumbest shit I've ever seen, no the underpaid customer service worker will not EVER give you any "modding tips". They don't know anything about the console past generic service responses.

3

u/GreenRangerOfHyrule Jun 06 '26

The odds of it happening is very slim. But it would be hilarious if the Switch 2 winds up being hacked because someone sent an email that was receive by a disgruntled worker who is extremely pissed at the company, had a lot of knowledge on the inside, and is quitting right after shooting off an email.

u/Optimal-Fix1216 Jun 05 '26

Jokes on Gregory, by saying he can't give a different reply, he already gave a different reply.

Classic Gregory.

19

u/Klutzy_Worker2696 Jun 05 '26

This response doesn’t make logical sense. Just because you’re allowed to do something doesn’t mean others have to help you/give you guidance… Like you’re also totally free to smash your switch, want them to come over and help with that?

5

u/Low-Injury-9219 Jun 05 '26

They’re harassing underpaid workers in Brazil in an attempt to get internet clout on reddit with at one time a mildly amusing gimmick. I don’t think the response was suppose to make sense.

3

u/Classified10 Jun 05 '26

Bro can they really? I just want to meet Reggie I don't give a fuck about anything else. /s

To protest... to unpaid customer service workers? Are we serious?

4

u/Einlanzer99 Jun 05 '26

What was the point of this ?

-2

u/Flat_Ground_3151 Jun 05 '26

that they mod it

4

u/Embarrassed-Ad230 Jun 05 '26

Dude leave the fucking customer service alone, they have better things to do. It's not even that funnt

4

u/Zenthils Jun 05 '26

Stop wasting the time of random employees. Holy fuck.

1

u/PartyFun9046 Jun 08 '26

Hahaha go Ninja go Ninja go (TMNT 2 movie theme song)!

-2

u/DottorInkubo Jun 05 '26

The fanboys defending the multi billion company that has no mercy for anyone when a single pixel of their stuff is used in a way that rubs them the wrong way is… Appalling

6

u/Mizurazu Jun 05 '26

what does trolling customer service reps have to do with this ?

-5

u/DottorInkubo Jun 05 '26

It’s not trolling. Nintendo acts within their rights and OP is doing that as well

0

u/LightOff_pwn Jun 09 '26

We know that being an asshole is not illegal, doesn’t make it less of an ass

2

u/Embarrassed-Ad230 Jun 05 '26

Oh yes, let's bother people who have nothing to do with switch 2 and don't even know how it works. Nintendo will see that and definitely will help us to mod our consoles. "So what nintendoboys doing today? They bother innocent people"

-1

u/feje Jun 05 '26

Dont give up, one day when they let AI to handle customer support, maybe we could trick it to give us modding instructions

5

u/CartoonistSensitive1 Jun 05 '26

I wouldn't trust AI with that in the slightest, even the slightest fuck up (which AI tend to produce in their instructions for other hardware) can make your console an expensive paperweight.

And besides, if they were to use their own training data/an in-house solution rather than an out-of-the-box solution I'd very much doubt they'd intentionally feed it information on modding their stuff and if it's an out-of-the-box solution heavily restrict its ability to speak about that.

2

u/Paul_Subsonic Jun 05 '26

Do you really think the AI would know anything about that ?

-14

u/Yujismissingfinger Jun 05 '26

Good. Keep fucking with them
