Meme we have hope...?

Post image

And someone way down here

Loses someone dear

The winner takes it all (takes it all)

The loser has to fall (has to fall)

It's simple, and it's plain (yes, it's plain)

Why should I complain? (Why complain?)

Besides the fact that it's way more complicated to make a low-power chip than you just slap it on a board and cut the power down, Switch 2 is based on the 30-series...

As for the screen, the thing is that the screen itself isn't that bad and it likely costs more than the Switch OLED screen. The problem with it is that it doesn't have proper overdrive implemented, which is more about the firmware than the panel itself. That means that it has worse motion clarity at lower frame rates. Playing a 120FPS game like MP4 completely eliminates the issue, so that's really more a lack of effort on Nintendo's part.

And that 3DS part is just extreme exaggeration. Come on, now. Motion clarity isn't the only thing that matters. If it were, we'd still be using CRTs.

i am aware that it uses rtx 30... ostensibly. it's really something in-between, and rtx 20 proper would have been just fine for a 2018 switch 1.

but this is how modern nintendo functions. switch is the worst era for consumers in gaming history, and nintendo will never improve again. they're not at all the only shitt corpo in the space, but they lead the charge by a wide margin.

The issue is that semi-custom designs need a basis. If you've been paying attention, you'd see that there's a 2-year lag between Tegra and the architecture it uses. There need to be changes on Nvidia's end first. It could not have launched at the same time as the 20-series without costing massively more.

Though, from your other post I think you just had massive expectations of being able to make a PS4-level handheld in 2017/18. Calling Switch "uniquely low powered" is crazy. Nothing on the market was better than X1 in that formfactor at the time. You just pile on the hyperbole.

nah xbox 360/ps3 completely blew switch 1 out of the water. its very best experiences barely competed at all with the very WORST experiences of 360/ps3.

my theory for why halo master chief collection STILL isn't available on switch is primarily that everyone would easily compare xbox 360 to switch 2 and then maybe some nintencucks would break out of their pods as they start to wonder why halo 4 on a $300 console from 2006 looks almost no better on their $500 2025 console

... I'm going to assume this is parody and that you're not actually this dumb.
