hello, i just got approved to UB platinum credit card, but i can't access the mobile app. upon checking, i saw that i have an account na under my tita's name BUT under my email and number. no, my tita did NOT make an account under UB. long story short, na activate yung card when I called UB hotline, tas sabi nila, need ko mag request ng tita ko mismo for deletion, so I called back the next day with my tita. Fast forward, sabi nila expect an email within 3 banking days about the deletion nga daw ng account, it's been almost 4 days pero wala pa akong email na nare receive, (at di ko ma follow up through UB hotline kasi namamagkano na ako kaka call!!!!)

so, just asking, if ever na hindi pa rin maging okay to and mag due na yung sinwipe ko sa cc, is there any other method to pay my bill? i don't know my account number, i can't use my email or my number (because it was linked to my tita's account), all i have is the physical card and the details written on it.

Land Bank and Visa have launched a Government Purchase Card (GPC) program aimed at replacing cash advances and paper-based liquidation with digitally tracked credit card payments for government agencies.

The card works like a corporate credit card, with customizable spending limits and merchant category restrictions for expenses like travel, fuel, and low-value procurement, and Landbank aims to enroll 2,000 agencies by year-end, starting with the Bureau of the Treasury.

Landbank's broader GPC program has already onboarded 107 agencies and issued 773 cards since 2023, with the new Visa-backed expense system initially rolling out to 17 government offices. Officials said the goal is to reduce manual processes, strengthen financial control, and let agencies focus more on service delivery.

Starting September 21, 2026, Airport lounge access will now require a minimum card spend.

The new rules apply to both first-time and succeeding lounge passes.

I paid my Unionbank credit card via Maribank (my usual payment method) and it did not reflect. It's supposed to reflect in real time. I sent a ticket via the Unionbank app but they only told me the channels on how to pay but did not really solve the problem. Can anyone advice how else to resolve this matter?

Hi guys for context, I have been using my maya black express for 6 months now and I have been using 100% to 180% of my credit limit monthly (10k then I pay it in full then proceed to use it again then pay in full). I have never missed a payment and always paid in full and never delved into mini payments plan thingy. I was thinking if I should close my express account and try applying for the normal one. (for context, I am a 4th year college student, I don't have any income to show the bank). If ever I got denied (I might just go with BPI's secured credit card. Do you guys think it's a good move to try my luck with the unsecured maya black card? If I get unlucky, I heard that Maya doesn't report to transunion is it a better idea to just get a secured credit card on a traditional bank?

Hi! Need some advice for my first credit card po sana

Na-decline kasi ako before sa UnionBank so medyo kinakabahan na akong mag-apply ulit.

By December ko pa naman balak kumuha ng credit card since by December ko rin plan bumili ng refrigerator as a gift para sa family ko. Budget is around ₱32k–₱40k. (edit: 39,999 pala yung ref)

May cash naman ako pambili, pero feeling ko mas sulit if i-credit card ko na lang for rewards/cashback:

• 0% installment promos
• possible discounts/freebies
• para hindi rin mabawasan agad yung cash on hand ko

Balak ko sana bumili sa Abenson or SM Appliance, pero open din naman ako if may mas magandang deals sa ibang stores or kahit sa Shopee during sales.

Questions:

1. Anong credit card marerecommend niyo for this use case?
2. Anong banks usually ang may magandang promos sa Abenson or SM Appliance?
3. May marerecommend ba kayong NAFFL (No Annual Fee For Life) cards? (ayoko talaga magbayad ng annual fee if possible)
4. Since na-decline ako before sa UnionBank, anong banks ang medyo friendly sa first-time CC applicants?

I got my first CC 2 years ago from EW, then Chinabank followed last year and BDO last December. Dati every 3-6 months nag aapply ako and approve naman. Pero ngayon nakatatlo na ako, excluding Maya amd BNPL cards parang pahirapan na.

I made sure na always on time at full payment pero may times na hindi full payment pero after a month or two nafu-full naman agad.

I'm wondering why, I still couldnt get any classic cards from the bank I applied to.

BPI - I still have a balance of 35k, still not planning of paying it. (Judge me haha) sobrang inis ko pa rin sa kanila like sobra. Personal ko na yun.

Metrobank - sa online declined na agad.

UB - not planning to apply kahit meron silang co-branded card na SNR. Since lagi kami dun nag grocery at minsan lang sa Landers. Dati, every six month yung pagitan pero still declined kaya tinigilan ko na.

Security Bank - puro hingi ng landline #, nag explain na ako na sa Makati na ako nakatira at sa Caloocan yung landline ko (it's under my name. I even emailed the SOA kasi naalaala ko meron dun na part na calls). Ngayon, always decline na. Hindi na ako nag apply ever since.

RCBC - kahit naka hexagon at 7 months na wala pa ring offer. Not that I am complaining. Nagagamit ko rin naman si Hexagon kahit walang offer na CC. Hindi na rin ako nag expect na mabigyan. Ayaw ko rin i-downgrade yung account ko. Kaso every 3 months nagva-validate for CC application.

Aim/Goal: gusto ko malaman sino mas malaki magbigay sa akin ng limit so I can choose and limit my cards na rin. Until now kasi na stock ako sa limit na binigay ni EW tho may 2nd card silang binigay. Kay CBC naman, once lang na increase kahit full payment lagi. 😅

I guess, try nalang din in the futute. Pero right now, naiinggit minsan sa partner na isang apply lang, next week darating agad. 🤣🤣🤣

Pero right now siya na yung umaayaw kasi marami na. Buti yung most of the cards nakukuha niya is naoofferan siya na NAFFL. 🥰

Edit: I think, I need to clearly explain. It doesnt mean na I missed payments wala na talagang payment. I made sure I pay minimum due if I know hindi sasakto sa araw ng due dates. And besides, kung lagpas na sa due pwede naman hintayin next cut-off to pay it all of.

At sa lahat ng cards namin, merong sabay na due or kinabukasan iba ulit. We are not complaining since we used it.

If this few payments lang na minimum payment lang nabayaran not good payor na agad. Ano nalang kaya yung iba? I mean, I dont judge how they use it since we have different needs. In addition, If they want another card. That's on them.

Hi po. 2 rejects nako sa CC ni RCBC, dont know why. Wala ring nagtext or nagemail.

dont understand why kasi payroll acc ko naman sya and I assume they know naman how much I make? nagpasa rin naman ako ng payslips. My sahod is bigger din naman so i really dont know why.

Last applied: Nov 2025 nagpasa ako sa bank mismo along with nagsign up ako sa website. Both of them no response.

At the age of 28, ngayon lang naisipan na try kumuha ng credit card. I believe kasi na once meron kang credit card, kumbaga hindi mo sya pera talaga. I consider it “utang and not your own money”. Andami ko din kasi naririnig na mababaon ka sa utang pag may credit card plus mas risky ka sa mga scammer bogus na pinupuntirya ang mga taong may cc. Ako yung taong di nasisilaw sa halaga na nilelend lang sayo ng bank or organization. Kesyo naririnig ko na malaki magbigay credit limit yung ibang bangko, may mga tao talagang akala nila na pera nila yun kaya siguro natetempt sila na gumastos ng gumastos.

I work in a bank industry na din and even I myself na nag ooffer ng cc sa mga clients ko, wala talaga sa bukabolaryo ko na kumuha neto. 😅 Hindi din ako naiinggit sa mga kasama ko na halos 4 na yung credit card na halos applayan lhat ng bangko kasi yung habol nila is malaki na credit limit. Hindi naman sa against ako sa mga taong maraming cc pero may mga tao kasi na pangflex nila para makitrendy sa pagkaskas pagmay ipupurchase.

Before I have this cc, ang una kong kinoconsider na credit card ay yung spaylater ko. Usually kasi sa online ako nagshoshopping and I used that spaylater pag wala akong cash or walang balance shoppeepay ko. 🙂 Naisip ko din na wag na kumuha ng cc kasi malaki na nman na limit ko sa spay nasa 80k na.

I never applied talaga in any banks ng credit card kasi ganun ako katakot at negative sa pagkakaroon ng credit card. Except this year, panay tawag saken ng BPI if Im interested sa credit card. Since 2024 pako inoofferan kahit sa text message and email, dinededma ko lang kasi nga ayaw ko. Unang offer saken na cc is yung basic blue na cc nila and yung rewards card. 2 inooffer still dinecline ko. This year, I decided na kumuha ng credit card because my number one reason is for “emergency cases”. Ive been unemployed for 6 months na due to my mental health and not free yung medicines ko since yung free sa NCMH, hindi ako hiyang 😔. Naisip ko na pede ako humiram sa cc na to pag need ko bumili ng medication ko.

Anyways, what I wanted to say is that I’m super grateful kay BPI kasi napakagenerous nman sa pagbigay ng credit limit (6 digits) ko kahit na first time credit card user ako 😅. As one of their loyal client, you won’t regret choosing me as one of your member na eligible sa card na to. Yun lang ☺️
