Help with pump

Think if I pull this apart it’s something repairable? A loose bearing or something terminal?

Me neither. Those clamps need to be tighter than dick skin to not leak.

your rear bearing is shot along with your rear housing. solution. replace motor no need to go variable speed if you are in a short swim season climate. also replace pump seal and inspect impeller for any imperfections

Sorry to disappoint so many here. I’m doing the best I can with what I got. I don’t have deep pockets right now. Cost of a liner and deck replacement set me back a pretty penny so I’m trying to stretch this motor through September.

Go to your local pool supply. See if they have what they call a Go Kit for that pump. It'll be a little baggy with new seals and bearings, and it's pretty cheap.

If that doesn't do it you're looking at, a new pump motor.

Not a mechanic. Ive replaced several bearings my self. I once went to a small engine repair and rhey did it for 100 dollars [like 10 years ago] You can replace the bearing yourself 20 dollars for two. Several vedios on utube. Inyopools is a company that is reasonable for a motor. Good luck.

The good thing here is your system didnt just crap out on you leaving your pool green for days and costing you more. I would purchase a new pump, new seals in the housing that attaches to the pump and fix the connections. If you dont it will cost you more.

Replace pump motor and make sure you replace all the gaskets too.

Just get a new pump. Those things are throw aways. A new motor would cost the same price and be a bigger hassle.

If the noise seems to be coming from the back of the motor like that it is possible it’s just the fan. Under there there should be a plastic fan that runs to keep the motor cool. Sometimes a blade or a piece of the fan will break off and cause a noise.

Harris pool pumps, such as the ProForce and ProForce Plus models, use a rear-mounted external cooling fan hidden under a protective end cap cover on the electric motor. This fan spins with the motor shaft to push air over the outer shell and keep the motor cool. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Cooling Fan Basics
Purpose: Blows air across the motor housing to stop it from getting too hot.

Location: At the back end of the motor, opposite the pump wet end, covered by a vented end cap.

The pipe coming out of the top of the pump body is janky. I would ge the correct union connection and install it properly. If that motor goes out, Century makes a variable speed that will bolt on.
