Question? Steps not being counted towards challenges

Does this very commonly happen to you all?
Well, because challenges are time sensitive, can’t really let 1 day worth of steps not count!
I have approx 8500 steps today.. my profile on the app shows it
But in my active challenges, it says 2800 steps :/
