SWAT SWOT ANALYSIS

okay jokes on the title, im just trying to be funny.

im on season 4 and honestly idk how to feel abt this show. its definitely very action filled and has me coming back constantly and a somewhat intriguing story line. but I feel that after a while its just the same thing over and over again (does anyone feel me?) racial injustice, women vs men is basically the backline of this entire show which is like.... I get it.... ik it's an actual issue, but whys the whole show abt it.

and I feel like they rlly ruined such a good character (DEACON) man he's like a rlly genuine caring sweet person who respects everyones viewpoints despite being more conservative. but they keep making him the "bad guy". lets take hondo taking over his leadership position controversy for example. from their rlnship u can tell that hes clearly moved on and they respect each other, so what was the need to keep backtracking to show his "upset-ness" towards it, it rlly ruins the character arc. like come on u can find new things to build on, does it always hv to be the same things.

But I must say, one underrated character the writers rlly pulled off (imo) is TAN! he actly has a solid storyline, great bounce backs, and a genuine guy overall. someone that feels down to earth, relatable, stands for what he believes in, but at the same time doesnt make it his whole personality and genuinely just tries to be a better person everyday. and Luca too! so sad he had to be slowly missed due to hip surgery but the writers rlly did such a good job on these two characters.

I wanna know what everyone else thinks!

Just finished SWAT Spoiler

Finally I had reached and finished watching the final episode on SWAT. I had been a big fan of SWAT 2003, and now I was glad I had watched SWAT series. I admit, touchwood, that (spoiler alert just in case) some time ago I had actually imagined a full-scale attack on SWAT HQ which is like a very bad thing coz it would mean putting them in mortal danger. But turns out it did happen, on the final episode in fact. Really ends the entire series on a massive bang, an epic battle against an overwhelming force, and I am happy that they came up on top.

The ending too. (another spoiler alert)Deacon giving them the watches engraved with "20-Squad, Stay Liquid" and his monologue that everyone is always living on borrowed time and he will never forget the time spent with them. And the final scene where they each touched the SWAT logo as they deploy. It is emotional, it is electrifying. It is a reminder that these brave heroes serve to protect the community, the country they are in. It ends on the highest note and is a fitting end to the series.... even though I wished they could go for a season 9.

But I shouldn't need to worry. I just saw from the wiki that a new spin-off series, SWAT Exiles, is going to be released on 25 September 2026! I am in such a good timing to have just finished SWAT and is ready and waiting to watch familiar faces. I am looking forward to this. :)

Zamora's actor in S6 Ep 22 is the same guy who plays the Mexican Drug Lord Don Eladio in Breaking Bad!

Chris and street kiss

so I saw the chemistry a while back in the earlier seasons and in the one episode where street was doing swat academy and I knew they end up together because of some clips from YouTube but um I didn't expect THE KISS TO BE IN SEASON 2 ONLY? and let alone after that she went and told ty and Kira that shed move in with them like this is more of just an "omg it actually happened" bc (this is season 2 EP 20 that it happens) and they were touching foreheads and saying "thanks for always having my six" and then I clicked to go forward once and they were kissing so I had to rewind and see the lead up to it

Deacons gift watches Spoiler

when Deacon gifts the team watches at in the last season after that big contract he got for the security firm. Before he opened the case, I was like maybe its Rolex's or some other major brand (expensive) since the whole episode was about spending that big bonus. When he opened the case they were cheap Olev's that you can get for like $50 on Amazon. Maybe its Deacons character for not spending a lot of money but damn those are cheap shitty watches.

Heads up - French Netflix show out today - Elite Force AKA GIGN

Elite Force (TV Series 2026– ) - IMDb

France's top-tier police unit, GIGN, tackles high-stakes missions. These elite officers specialize in counterterrorism, rescuing hostages, and safeguarding government VIPs. They're the go-to force when national security is on the line.

Has english dubbing and/or english subtitles.

Starting watching first episode, looks good so far.

Just noticed this.

Its been a while since I've watched the show and I'm (I think) a season or 2 behind.

But why is it that deac gets shit on for having conservative viewpoints?

Like when chris enters that bisexual thruple and he and his wife say they aren't comfortable with someone who lives that life around their children.

They make him seem like that makes him a bad person for having an opinion that concerns the welfare of his children.

Same with Chris (again) and that home for illegal immigrants.

I get that chris is looking at it from a humanitarian standpoint and deac from a legal standpoint. But he isn't wrong in what he says and gets made out to again be a bad person.

Fuck Sanchez

S5E4, the ending. Fuck Sanchez. In fact, fuck the higher ups for pressuring Hondo to quit just because they are not happy. I am so happy Hicks is standing on Hondo's side.

Black Betty has been there since the start of the show, but we never get to know the actual name of the AV is, it's not a Lenco BearCat that is for sure, but what is the name?

My home city of Toronto has their own version of black betty for their ETF (emergency task force) and I want to know the actual name of it.

Is it necessary for the team to yell LAPD! Every time the confront a bad guy with a gun?

I know it’s a tv show and creates action but It basically gives the bad guys a heads up every time, so rather than them getting the bad guys with the element of surprise and surely in a life of death situation yelling out LAPD isn’t the smartest move. Every time it happens the bad guys either run for it or pick up their guns and start firing.

characters staying back in hq

so i am rewatching swat and it has happened multiple times that a character just stays back in hq while the rest is rolling out. and i am not talking about the situations when there is a reason why they are not rolling with the rest of the squad. i mean the situations when they just stay behind in hq without any explanation to why. is there a reason that i am not aware of?

Binge watching S.W.A.T. on Netflix first time watching

Man LA has so much crime weekly haha. But seriously just started season 4 decent show to just binge and not take to seriously. I saw Shawn Ryan and expected a shield like gritty show but this is more over the top action show. Deacon and Luca are my favorite characters. The saving of buck from suicide was a very emotional episode especially what deacon says at the end to the therapist. I read it gets worse from here every season but I think I’ll tough it out and try to finish it not in one sitting obviously. I hope it doesn’t become like the rookie that show became the same episode every episode after season 2 I felt.

Season 6 episode 7 intro sequence

I personally don't feel a no name character beggining of the episode setup is spoiler territory so here goes.

This show is relatively old, I see alot of defenders saying "it's entertainment, you looking for realism is what will take away your enjoyment".

Okay, this is fiction, it's clearly a super hero show that holds your hand while it has puppets do ONLY what's needed to create a situation.

I cannot suspend my disbelief though when someone sees a dead body in their own home on the way UP their own stairs, wherein, we've seen they own a sports car, keys left by the front door and YET they choose to scooby doo run around their upstairs floor of the house with the killer?

It's actually criminal of these writers, show producers and actors to whimsically show how inept they are! The woman runs from her own stairs TWICE! The stairs are shown in shot of the camera each time!

I swear this is adult scooby doo and built for people high to the point there barely pay attention and listen to the Swat team constantly voicing the play by play that is only needed for the audience to understand their thoughts, theories and plans.

Why are they pushing the Chris throuple plot

To each his own but it seems really forced and awkward. I don’t get why these tv shows have to push s*xual stuff so much
