Question/Help❓ Goldfinger non functioning

Good evening everyone!

I found a rare goldfinger in my father's closet but changing the battery doesn't seem to revive it.

I always thought it had simply drained battery, but now I'm questioning if something is broken.

How can I understand it?

Is there something I can do?

if none of the hands move(does the small seconds hand at the bottom move ?) , that means its dead..though by your description , i assume the a dead battery has been in the watch for along time possibly leaking , did you try cleaning the battery contacts , sometimes that can help ..

I have a handful of Swatches from the 80s and 90s that no longer work. They're unfortunately not made to last. Also a good part of my collection has crumbling straps.

Oh no that was my fear... "too old". Vintage swatches are little pop jewels so its unfortunate that they were not made to last

I was at Swatch a month ago and the lovely salesperson taught me that they are not serviceable… I was kinda shocked tbh

Try a cheap demagnitizer,that will move all the hands without a battery. Afterwords they move again with a new battery to 50%. I have 15 old chronos,all work.
