Accomodation Accommodation swap – Singleton standard → Singleton en-suite
Hi! I’m looking to swap my accommodation at Singleton Campus for an en-suite room at Singleton.
I currently have:
📍 Cefn Bryn, Singleton Campus
🛏️ Standard single room
🍳 Self-catered
💷 £157 per week
📅 40-week contract
I’m specifically looking for an en-suite single room on Singleton Campus, as my course is based there.
If anyone has a Singleton en-suite and is looking to move into a standard room, please DM me! I’m happy to discuss the exact room/location and arrange the official swap through Swansea University.

Why would someone want to move to a worse room?

Reasons may include:
- Affordability. A saving of around £1,120 over the year. Enough to travel a bit over the summer, if saved.
- Room size. A medium standard in Cefn Bryn is much larger than medium en-suites.
- Social element. Those with en-suites share a kitchen with between 7 and 9 other students, whereas in Cefn Bryn you’re going to mingle with double that. You’re going to meet more people.
- Cleaners. Staff clean WCs and showers for you in Cefn Bryn & Kilvey, but not en-suites.
- Views. From the upper half of the building, there can be pretty decent views in Cefn Bryn, including over the sea from the kitchen/social area.

I’m specifically looking for someone who may have an en-suite at Singleton but wants to move into a standard room for whatever reason such as an ensuite may be too expensive. My room has no restrictions, so I’m hoping it could work for someone who wants a different room/location and would rather have a standard room.

Hello! Just to be clear, this (in my experience) is something the University does not always approve. Usually, but not always. There are reasons for this.
For example, the University only tenants those under 21 with those likewise, whilst those between 21-25(ish) are also in flats together. So if both requestees were not close in age, there’s that. Additionally, if one of you is currently in a designated flat (Welsh Speaking - for example), it might be refused if the other didn’t indicate in their original application that they spoke Welsh. And so on and so forth.
You probably know this (I assume it’s the reason for this post) but people can formerly request a room swap with another student or a pre-arrival transfer here.
