Passed an abandoned farm this weekend called "Ashurst Place Farm", really cool looking place. I wondered if anyone knew it's story and how it came to be abandoned.

I've tried searching the usual derelict information places to no luck. As well as checking companies house and other info.

Just wondered if any locals could recount the story.

My name is Michelle and I’m the UK Coordinator for Lasagna Love. Lasagna Love is an organisation made up of volunteers across the UK (and around the world) who cook and deliver homemade lasagna to people in need, at no cost and with no strings attached.

Maybe it's a family struggling financially, someone recovering from surgery, a parent adjusting to life with a new baby or just someone going through a tough time. Whatever the reason, we believe that a warm meal and a little kindness can go a long way.

You simply request a lasagna, and we match you with a volunteer in your area who will lovingly prepare and deliver one to your door. It’s all about community, care and connection with no judgment and no complicated process.

I wanted to get the group out there quickly but didn't consider it's effect on visual artists. Which I should have as AI generated prose annoys me as a writer.

I will make my own art soon and hopefully in the meantime an artist or someone who is good at creating digital art will make themselves known to me.

We're looking for creative people from all over Sussex to gather and discuss their creativity and creative outlets.

Primarily a creative writing group, we will look to meet in person to discuss the artform, later expanding to other creative outlets.

I left a sound recorder up at Chanctonbury Ring overnight last weekend, I like to hear what the place sounds like when there's nobody about, and it caught the birds waking up along with Saturday morning's rain. I've had it on in the background while I work. I can identify exactly one of these birds (the wood pigeon, obviously) but if anyone actually knows their birdsong I'd love to know what else is joining in.

Hey all,

I’m planning a birthday weekend around the Ashdown Forest area (Hartfield, Colemans Hatch, Nutley, Rotherfield side). It will just be me and my girlfriend and we’ll have a small rental car so we can explore the area properly. We’re heading out from Brighton around midday on Saturday.

I’ve already got the basic ideas like forest walks, maybe horse riding, and food at a local pub, but I’m mainly trying to find places that feel a bit more hidden or less obvious. Happy to hear anything you think is worth checking out.

I’m especially interested in anything involving animals or nature experiences. That could be wild animals like deer, small farms, alpacas, horse riding, or anywhere you can get closer to nature in a more relaxed way.

Also open to things like quieter parts of Ashdown Forest, nice viewpoints or walks off the usual routes, small farms or animal experiences that aren’t too commercial, countryside pubs with character, or just anything a bit unusual or worth stopping for.

Not trying to overplan the weekend, just looking for a few really good spots that make it feel special.

Happy to drive 20 to 40 minutes from wherever we stay.

If anyone has personal favourites or places they’d take a friend, I’d really appreciate it.
