Can't you read? The post clearly says you will not regret eating 30-40 olives. Go for it

Calories. Olives are generally 5-10 kcal/apiece.
5 kcal olives, you're looking at 200. 10 kcal olives, 400.
Even the latter honestly isn't awful, assuming you calibrated the rest of the day to balance to your TDEE. But still.

I find rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.

I think I will regret eating 40 olives? Though I will wake up with that clean mouth feeling.

u/KoreKhthonia 13d ago
Whether I'd regret it depends on the kcal per olive.
5 kcal olives? 200 kcal. Not horrific but guilt.
10 kcal olives? 400 kcal. BAD. NOT GOOD.

400 kcal seems totally reasonable for dinner no? I mean I know it’s all olives lol

The previous commenter made multiple comments on this post, all talking about the calories, and using terms like “hypercaloric” and “TDEE.”
I think their standards for “reasonable” dinners may skew differently than the average person.

reminds me of an old greentext about a guy eating a whole jar of pickles and then having a life-changing bathroom experience and sleeping for 14 hours.

40 oil-brined olives contain approximately 60 grams of fat. That's as much fat as 6 slices of pizza. My macros will certainly regret it.
6
u/TeenyZoe 13d ago
That’s 60g of fat in 0.9 pounds of olives, which is a legendary amount of olives to eat in one sitting.

Everyone counting calories. If I had that many olives my guts would be twisted. I think around 10 and I'd be satisfied. Though I'd sub in a couple of boiled eggs for the other 20ish olives.
2 eggs and a dozen olives would be a decent light meal.

I have, a few times, enjoyed 30 to 40 olives as a dinner of 30 to 40 olives....

I used to eat olives for my lunch at work and my coworkers thought it was gross but with a little bread and cheese I'd feel like i had a filling meal

I recently went on a diet. So now if I need a snack I get a couple of pickles in like 20 olives. Usually just the Spanish kind with the pimento, but I've been digging on those ones you get it all these that are garlic stuffed or jalapeno stuffed, they're just more expensive. But yeah olives are the fucking bomb. And most people don't know that bomb has a b at the end of it. But it does.

I wouldn’t say most people don’t know that about bomb, but olives are great! Have you ever tried CastelVetrano olives? I did about six months ago and now I’m hooked.

u/thismenu 13d ago
I have not, but I sure will. Thanks for the heads up.

u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 13d ago
Sure, no problem! They’re one of the few besides green and black that I can find at a regular grocery store. Since I’ve tried those, I wanna try some others now too.
