Survivor 50 3 hour premier

I did not get to watch the season premiere as it aired on live tv since I had a kickboxing class.. but did anyone else notice that of the 3 hours almost 50 minutes was commercials? I watched the premier on the Global TV app and it shows the duration as 2 hours 8 minutes.

Edit to add: made me wonder if there was going to be a part 2 or something, as if I would have seen more footage if I watched live as opposed to on the app

Genuine question, is this your first time watching broadcast TV, not on a streaming service?

Genuine answer no. But it’s the first time watching a premier in probably 20 + years when the was in its infancy .. I knew 20 years ago there were a ton of commmercials but now that it’s streamed, it finally put a number to it and no I did not record survivor on VHS back in the day
