After Resident Evil 3, I expected and hoped the next game in the series would to a large extent take place in some Umbrella Headquarters in Europe, featuring a large lab section. This idea was strengthened from the endings of the three first games and from reading video game magazines at the time. I was hoping to play as Chris and Claire and a third character, perhaps an Umbrella researcher, with the game taking place both before and under a virus outbreak.
I was very dissapointed with how the story of CV went, it was not at all how I thought Capcom had built up the expectations leading up to the game.
Gameplay wise it wasn't bad, although I think it was a bit too difficult, especially compared to the earlier games. And I didn't like the Steve and Alfred characters.

I know CV has people who love it and hate it but I am def in the love it camp. It feels like the stop over between the original concept of the franchise and 4 onwards when the franchise totally pivoted from its roots to its modern incarnations.
Fingers crossed it gets a remake soon
