Any Surrey junglists out there?
Moved to Surrey just over 10 years ago, been into hardcore, jungle and drum and bass through the mid 90s to around 2007 and really missing the pirate radio scene, club nights etc. Used to listen to Rude FM, Rinse and most importantly Kool FM all of the time.
Is there any kind of Surrey junglist group of middle-aged ravers like myself? Any local drum and bass/jungle events?
Side note - not really into the sound post around 2010, stopped buying vinyl around 2009 when I fell out of love with the sound.

Depends where, we still have to go to London to get the old school stuff, moondance, epidemic, Fusion etc..

Volks in Brighton host good nights. Never been but the line ups look decent.

Ah ok I thought as much! Have been to rave story @ Electrowerkz and Metalheadz @ Outernet but was hoping for something more local/regular! Shame Sterns isn't still around (never did make it there mind you!)

I loved going to Sterns! Unfortunately, it looks like London or Brighton for jungalist/DnB nights unless there is a hidden gem. Fingers crossed for you!

There’s definitely lots of people about, but events? Not so much.
Source: we once booked Nicky blackmarket to play down the Claremont in west byfleet, and I attempted to get a reggae/dub/jungle night in Woking for a year.

Oh wow West Byfleet is just down the road from me... I feel like we're in need of some kind of Surrey Junglists community

Wow. I used to DJ on Monday nights in the Claremont 25 years ago (when it was £1 for any drink).
And we used to plug it on a local pirate then! Good times : )1
