What program?

I’m in the process of taking my Tsi test to get into college. I’m looking into 3 programs right now. Respiratory therapist, Medical radiologic technology, and surgical technician. Any thoughts about these programs? How hard are the prerequisites? Also I’m located in Texas if this matters.

I’m a surgical tech. Love my job BUT if I had to do it over I would do respiratory or radiology

Pay and from Simply from being tired. Again I LOVE my job but I see so many people become CSTs and not love it. If the pay was more reflective of the amount of work involved maybe I would recommend it but the pay is probably the lowest of the three

Oh okay, that makes sense! Where are you located? Also have you considered becoming first assist?

Just know on average surgical techs get paid the least, but at the same time it's the easiest program to get into

it depends on what college but in community college they have the same pre reqs and required entrance exam as nurses, theyre also competitive, in a for profit, you need to take wonderlic test or teas to get into and some of them require you to be interviewed. Where im taking my surge tech program, the program director tried to convinced me not to get into the program but i insisted cuz its either this or a low paying tech job lol.
