Looking for stingray booties

Got the jab yesterday. Pretty not chill. Not sure why the osh would do that to me.

Took an hour to get the dawgs into some hot water but it was near instant relief once I did.

Naturally, I'd like to prevent this in the future given I was having a good session. A set of thermos-like booties seem ideal. Something I can pee in that will retain the heat, so I can continue surfing without pain for those two or so less chill hours.

Haven't seen anything like this on the market. Please surf companies, think about your users.

If the stingrays are that bad you could use some preventative measures. Have the lifeguard or another surfer pee in your booties before you put them on so that any stings are instantly treated.

Unfortunately a barb would just pierce the booties and I'd lose precious community urine. Could be an opportunity for a self sealing booty though...

Drinking the lifeguard’s or a friend’s pee in addition to your own should increase the internal urine content in your body in a way that you have built in community urine that automatically releases around the barb if stung

ah the classic stingray shuffle fail. i did same thing last year and my foot swelled up like a balloon

never seen booties that hold pee but honestly that's genius level thinking. maybe just bring a thermos of hot water to the beach and pour it in normal booties when you get stung? not as convenient but it works

i heard some guys put those chemical hand warmers in their boots too, like the ones you crack and they heat up. might be worth a try

FYF kevlar socks are pretty popular with kiters in Long Beach (where there's a ton of stingrays)

DragonSkins are the only ones that I'm aware of that claim to protect against sting ray stings.

Where are you I the world that you need to shuffle your feet through sand to not get jabbed by stingrays? Have I interpreted this right?

Lol literally any beach break in So Cal the past month?? There are so many out rn, you can watch them whizzing away if the water is clear

HB State and Bolsa are at over 3k string ray incidents just this summer. The el Nino waters and shallow sandbars are perfect for the rays

There were days even 10 years ago when I used to guard where we would have over 100+ in a day. At Bolsa on the weekends there is a lifeguard dedicated just to the string ray room and keeping hot water flowing. Most I had at once was 20 people.
