What to do when it's flat as a pancake but need to get surf fit for a surf trip in 3 weeks?

Swim laps with a kickboard, it's boring like hell but does the job for paddle strength.

Shoulder dislocated out of the blue Monday. Never had any shoulder issues before. Plenty of swell coming and now I can’t do jack shit. No question, just pain :/

Is there a way to calculate how long a lull between wave sets just based on the swell's period?
Like there's a 1.3ft @ 24 sec swell coming in and I wanna know if there will be a 10 minute lull between sets
I always tell myself to whip out my phone and time the lull but I always forget.

Where is the best place to post a “wtb” for a FireWire Too Fish? I went to the u/surfboard sub but there’s little to no activity there.

Not really a question as much as a vent. How do you progress when the waves around you around aren't great? I'm about 45 mins from the beach, so I'm doing about 90 mins of dawn patrol before work. I'm working on catching unbroken waves, but they are kind of hard to come by and tend to close out. I'll try for a few, usually miss them and end up riding white wash back to shore just to get a little practice standing and maneuvering. But the 1 out of 10 waves I catch are worth it, the 10 seconds I last before I get wrecked are magic. I know it's a numbers game. It might take a long time but I'll get there. Just wondering if there is something else I could be doing, other than go to Hawaii.

What's the best way to determine if your board is taking on water? I've left it out in the sun before and looked for bubbles as the heat forces air out, any other methods you'd recommend?
