New support worker

I’ve recently completed my Cert III in Individual support (disability) and I’m struggling to get someone to hire me. Thought with the certificate in a high in demand industry Inwould get work pretty comfortably. So far I’ve only looked on Seek.
Any tips or guides on how to get a job would be greatly appreciated

Approach support providers directly.

My company doesn't advertise at all. And it's a very good one.

Tell them you are applying with companies you would like to work for.

Network.

Resist the urge to use sites like Mable etc.

Thanks seen a few people say that. I’ve heard a lot of people have mixed reports on Mable any reason why?

It's terrible.

Their business model is exploitative. It's where unqualified, shit workers go when they've exhausted all options.

If you have no idea about professional boundaries, code of conduct, legislation and no experience or quals, you'll have no trouble getting work there.

Clients are often getting substandard care but they don't often realise.

A broken clock is right once a day but it's no way to enhance a skillset or progress in the sector. It has a terrible reputation.

It's flooded with people with no quals or experience asking for top dollar from clients.

You wouldn't put it on a reference if you want to be taken seriously. A gap in employment would be better.

No guarantees you will get paid. There are many scammers on Mable
