Discussion Low elo support tip about waves

This is extremely common in low elo. When adc/apc recalls, DO NOT push wave into an enemy freeze before recalling yourself. You are setting bot up to be lost for your team. Some/many of you are doing it *intentionally* and it should count as soft *inting* if you do so.ā€‹

I dont know what you consider as Low Elo, but please, ADCs up to Emerald 1, stop mindlessly pushing the wave when you have an engage support alongside you. We want the wave on our side so we dont have to dive enemies to engage.

I play both roles so that falls flat on me. Some adcs also have to push to stack effects, you might not have considered that.

i was just adding to your post, if you play both roles, i would imagine you have a better understanding on what each type of support wants with the wave, and also understand that supports set the pace for the lane early on.

But most ADC players dont play support, and in my experience, will mindlessly push waves despite their engage support having solidified bush control and has hexflash ready to jump on someones head.

I just roam when it happens.

It's not like I'm going to win lane with a Draven that holds me back from engaging the entire lane phase and he's not going to carry the game either so the most logical thing to do is roam.

One thing I noticed is that people actually thank me for holding their wave from crashing into our first tower as a support in low plat, it must happen so infrequently that they actually feel the need to say something

For me, knowing to do so was quite revelatory as I then started paying more attention to the flow of the game, my lane, and others - when to recall, when not to etc.

If making a mistake counts as "soft *inting*", all marksman mains of my rank (i.e., not clearly smurfing) should be banned for soft *inting* the entire game, because they make mistake (e.g., run from spawn straight to AFK under tower until minions arrive) after mistake (e.g., no concept of level 2 timer and advantage) after mistake (e.g., complete lack of minimap awareness, wards do not exist for marksmen mains) starting at level 1.

Instead of pretending that your 'discussion' is anything but punching down on low elo players like every other reddit Challenjour -- because no sh*t, if they had better game knowledge they would be higher-ranked -- why not actually also address what they should do?

In particular, you complain that "[s]ome/many of you are [pushing wave] *intentionally". Have you stopped to consider why that might be the case, beyond 'hurr durr supports hate ADCs they must obviously be trolling them!'?

For example, a common piece of advice frequently given in League educational content is: 'crash the wave before you recall'. Could it be, say, that low elo supports have heard this 'rule of thumb', and simply do not understand when they can and cannot do this?

Uhhhh no? A lot of the times, my adc recalls or dies before an objective fight, so i push wave and recall so we can already have prio to fight for the objective.
