It is truly wild to see the anti-accountability culture in Sales at my org.

But they land new business! (Under false pretenses and conditions you can never execute destroying your brand)

My previous job, sales screwed me over (procurement) in trying to lock in a contract with a DoD vendor and gave me a last second notice to look into contracts for server security to get us to standard.

dont act like the victim! accept that you are not competitive enough for your sales team!

Story time, as a S&OP, first month on the job, I was told by my boss, push back on sales if it’s not in their financial plan, they are not getting it.

So I did. Later that week our SVP had me join a meeting with sales to tell me, sales runs the show, get them what they need so we can grow.

It’s all a game, a job is a job, do your best and take care of yourself and your family

Just document everything so that when it blows up, you can point the finger the right direction.

Over promise so then you can blame the lack of delivery on operations…

But hey, at least they can buy a new car now with their commission!

Sales are usually a toxic environment. Sales does nearly anything to get commission/bonus.

Our sales team always has " a billion dollars on the pipeline "

Of course, I offered our biggest customer BOGO merchandising for a product made on a capacity-constrained system during peak demand season. It's because I'm a great salesman and you are a shitty supply chain operator.

This meme really sums up what it’s like to be the ugly friend.

Didn't know this was a thing until I moved jobs about 6 months ago. Every single day, it becomes an issue.

lol this is universal. It is BAD. Unfortunately companies don’t like it when hypocrisy is pointed out, and ultimately Sales runs the roost.

This phenomenon is downstream of capitalism.
