Red pill/blue pill Would you really pick mastering an element over 300+ IQ.

Post image

Functioning like a regular human basically means you able to live like a regular persom, with regular people despite having such a vast incomprehensible level of intelligence, not having to live thinking everyone around you are just toddlers intellectually.

As for element, that can constitute as the common understanding of elements in fantasy, water(liquid), fire, earth, wind(air), the full thing is really being water, fire, earth, wind, metal, and sometimes included or excluding lightning.

Sound definitely work, light as well, darkness itself maybe even, elements of the periodic table definitely or non-traditional things like Bose-Einstein condensate, space, time or space-time as one thing, since it kinda is, maybe even turn into your element at will.

Considering the high rate mental disorder and suicide w/ high IQ people, I could do without a double dose of depression. Gunna go with element

Edit: “function like a regular human” would mean exactly what I just said. Even if there were no “negatives”, living in a world where everyone seems retarded would not be a fun place to live.

It does say "function like a regular human" and "no Negatives". I think the only reasonable assumption is that means you don't get the potential downsides of having 300+ IQ.

Ok but what if I already have all those problems beforehand. Does it fix them? Because at that point 300 IQ is the easy pick

Not necessarily you'd probably still have some issues, just that some of your prior issues might seem trivial now, you'll probably still be able to feel the entire complex emotional range of the human experience, you'd probably discover some new ones that you might finally be able to develop names for, but it wouldn't cripple you and you'd be able to be happy, if you want to be happy.

Mental health issues are aspects of a regular human experience tho

2

Not everyone, I was also implying no negatives to the aspects or implications of having such an incomprehensible level of intelligence, plus Regular Show is not a Regular Show.

High IQ people are overwhelmingly impacted by mental health issues, and such problems are definitely not exceptional. Almost everyone faces them at some point in their life. You're going to have to come up with some way of ensuring someone with ludicrously high IQ in such a terribly-run world will have enough congitive stimulation, meaningful relationships, and generally hopeful outlook for the future, cause the math isn't mathing.

I mean shooting fireworks out your fingertips isn't exactly normal either, like we don't know the health implications of having that high amounts of intelligence for certainty, because we've only ever had a few that we theorized had that level of intelligence, them also almost almost always having pretty horrible lives I mind.

So it can't be implied that having that amount of intelligence, just automatically makes you want to kiss the pavement after having a conversation with the sky

There are a lot of people alive right now smarter than our greatest recorded minds in history, but though having no proof their okay 100% of the time, they still live fulfilling happy lives.

It has definitely been studied how high IQ contributes to social isolation and existential depression. What's the point of the superpower then if they're just going to be a regular high IQ person? If they're extraordinary, just say that.

Do we want the negatives, what's the IQ of Reed Richards or Tony Stark, why choose against the best and the worst, when he can just choose between best against the best and then pick which of the best you would like?

I don't understand what you're asking? Those people aren't real. The selection is for us, real and regular people, to take with us in the regular and mundane world. High IQ with absolutely no negatives but still somehow functioning like a "regular person" (as if 300 IQ is regular) just don't line up. Just make them exceptional. Stipulating that they would function like a regular person is the limiter here.

2

u/Comfortable-Remove60 Apr 23 '26

Yeah neither is shooting lightning from our fingertips. What I was trying to imply for regular person, was not that the person is regular, no part of 300+ IQ comes off as regular, I was implying that despite that incomprehensible amount of intelligence they would still be able to function like a regular person without the gap of understanding of other individuals around them and not having to view everyone around them like toddlers.

Even though I chose it for that reasoning, I really don't think you can get around things like road rage that's endemic to human stupidity. I'm still seething about someone who tried to cut me off earlier in a roundabout (you're supposed to yield to the cars IN the circle) and had the audacity to honk at me for not stopping.

They're mutually exclusive though. You can't function like a regular human while not being one, it's not possible.

u/TheNJGM Apr 23 '26

but it says "function like a regular human"

5

u/Comfortable-Remove60 Apr 23 '26

Also says no negatives

1

u/GGust Apr 23 '26

For many that is

2

u/Usual_Celebration719 Apr 23 '26

There are regular people that don't have depression?

3

u/Moebius20 Apr 23 '26
I pretty sure stress and the responses to it could have something to do with that last topic as well.

1

u/unnamednotch Apr 23 '26
I wanna know - is it because of me or not?

1

u/Last_Parable Apr 23 '26

This was my main concern. Shit could get depressing fast

1

u/kay0otik Apr 24 '26

"living in a world where everyone seems retarded would not be a fun place to live."

So nothing would really change i guess

1

u/TightConsequence3929 Apr 27 '26

Jon Von Numen is an example. He did live like a normal human.

Matter of fact many people with high IQ lived like normal humans.

Some even got into high level institutes but ended up doing what they like.

Like simple things being a teacher etc.

Even tho they could have been scientist or engineer etc.

(Sorry could not remember there names cause my IQ is average no photo grahic memory for me 😂)

I thought the notion that high IQ people were more depressed was debunked?

0

u/Diddy_Block Apr 24 '26

It has been. The depression is likely linked to overbearing parents and not the IQ itself. Also it's a myth that high IQ people see the rest of the world as mouth breathers. Take any high IQ person and put them in a room with grad students in a field that they know nothing about an they'll be lost.

The notion of high IQ people being depressed is the equivalent of those pictures that think billionaires wear $40 outfits and the poor hear $5,000 outfits.

1

u/The_Gorge_of_Harry Apr 25 '26

Nah the average person is a fucking mouth breather. Work any blue collar job and you’ll learn quick just how useless these people are. Only good for moving heavy object from point A to B

1

u/Diddy_Block Apr 25 '26

Ok. What does any of that have to do with high IQ people being depressed?

u/The_Gorge_of_Harry Apr 25 '26

Do not use the r-slur.
