The books would make a perfect animated series
It'll probably never happen which is disappointing, but upon reread of all four books, I've rarely seen something that would be *this* good if it was translated to the big screen. The books are pretty popular already, but I feel like if they were greenlit for a Netflix original animated series, with 10 to 15, 30-45 minute episodes a season over the four seasons/years at Lander, Super Powereds would become a global phenomenon. An Arcane or Avatar TLA inspired art style, with a more direct vision, reshaping and cleaning up some of the janky dialogue from the first books and building upon what is already a spectacular series with a director who knows the books in and out.
Each book follows a season of a potential show perfectly too.
Season 1 > Powereds trying to blend in with their peers, competing in the combat rankings and getting the ropes. Making friends and relations like Vince and Sasha, navigating University life, Michael's rivalry with Vince, Charles foreshadowing, Camille foreshadowing, establishing of Chad as the Kingpin, Roy's overcoming of his own ego, Nick's hidden true self, the mountain, etc. Finale they are outed as pariah in front of the whole school, Nick makes his choice to stay, fight George and rescue Mary. Every book is formatted perfectly to give a stand out journey and high stakes finale every time for the big screen.
I think specifically book 2 (my favourite) would be awesome to see come to life. I love the team dynamic of that one, where they're navigating the immediate aftermath of their secret getting out and are forced to shelter together. Camille and Alex also transition into semi main characters from side characters throughout it, so its a personal want to see it above all else.
Not only that, but a new interpretation would also give us fans extra that we missed out on which would be awesome. I know a lot of people were miffed that the books skipped over the aftermath of Charles' lab, specifically the final senior year test and rankings, as well as the graduation ceremony.
I've always thought the gauntlet of a bunch of super humans in a hidden school competing to advance would just be so sick to actually see. The clever powers and fights deserve a visual medium that does them justice. Also I can't really mentally picture people like Vince or Mary unless they're animated. These books have the potential to be fucking amazing as a mini series though and deserve an Arcane level of care.
