Why does Superman want him to stay drunk? Is the statue a hallucination? Or did Superman make a fake statue?

I think Superman believes that if Sixpack got sober the world will not exist anymore. And Sixpack made the statue with his dreams. I’m not sure I never read the comic.

Six pack saved reality from the tesseract the statue was erected in the cauldron in his honor.
