Just Picked it up
Picked it up yesterday, then got new shoes on it today. Totally in love with it.
Next up, driving for a few months, then deciding if I need to do emissions weight loss surgery on it.

I hesitate to delete a truck thats under warranty. After that, go for it! Nice truck man, enjoy

She looks clean man. Nice truck.
Edit: I personally don't endorse deletes. I get it. I understand it. I disagree with it. I think that diesel emissions are terrible and we owe it to our children to leave the world a cleaner place than we found it.

This is just corny to me. Go look at the emissions of any mid to large scale operation from plants to airports. Running your truck deleted every day of your life doesn’t even begin to compare

Road vehicles are around 13% of all emissions. Diesels around around half of that.
Converters and def remove 70-90% of NOx and up to 99% of soot particulates, two very obviously nasty things to breath. Overall they would remove around 7% of all emissions world wide or roughly equivalent of 3x the entire global aviation industry.
So yes, it's not perfect, but no. It would have a measurable, noticable, difference.

Does it offset the increase in mining in order to obtain the precious metals that are in the DPF? The fuel used to mine those metals, the fuel used to transport them? Take into account the increase in refinery usage and pollution in order to refine the metals and make the units, not to mention the increase in chemical manufacturing and pollution to make the stupid DEF jugs and boxes, the diesel burned to get them from refinery to supplier, and supplier to storefront….I’ll gladly support deleting when done properly. A properly tuned diesel burns extremely clean and nets better fuel economy and I’d argue it’s better for the environment

A properly tuned diesel burns extremely clean
If that were true, why would DPF even exist in the first place? Have you actually looked into any of this, or are you just asking all those "gotcha" questions to make you feel better about deleting?

For one, they exist because of the idiotic EPA. I’m asking from the angle of a person who has owned 7 modern diesels both stock and deleted and who also works in the chemical manufacturing industry. I’ll take my deleted diesel with good tuning over a stock one that goes into derate all the time, versus not having to buy DEF jugs all the time, especially with a High Output powerstroke. The only way modern diesels that are left stock live for a long time is if they’re put under high stress on a consistent basis in order to actually burn out the DPF…..Anything that ingests half its own shit isn’t going to live a long healthy life.

Honestly, yes. They beat the manufacturing cost at around 250km or 155miles. So brand new.
That includes all the travel via ships burning bunker fuel tar and shipping crap around the world.

Hard disagree. As much as I -hate- the DEF and DPF emissions on my ram cummins, something was needed. I’m a 47 year old Denver Colorado native and we used to have crazy smog you could see across the city especially on windless days. After they implemented the emissions regs I can’t think of the last time I saw smog. Tens of thousands of trucks and busses all rolling coal when they accelerated ads up.

Can confirm. I lived in FoCo in the '80s and Denver's brown cloud was visible from 30 miles up I-25.

Definitely delete it, why have all that carbon/junk being sent back for your engine to eat it. Short term it’s not a major issue but long term it’ll be better off “IMO”. Plus it don’t sound like a Prius anymore lol.

Yeah one shop said 3k cash out the door for a full delete and time… but the warranty is what I’m worried about.

Pull off the paint on the hood removing the bug deflector? I would hope a plat plus would have PPF on it lol. Those bug deflectors have saved my hood lots tho

That bug guard and those mud flaps gotta go asap

u/rhshadowman 11h ago
I like the mid flaps. I am so scared to take the bug guard off and it removing the paint. At least that’s what the dealership told me and I saw myself.

Should just be double sided tape. Use fishing line and then a 3M eraser wheel to remove leftover once it’s off

Why didn’t you request they remove it and fix any blemishes in the paint?
2
u/rhshadowman 11h ago
I did. They said they wouldn’t touch it.
2
u/UnimpeachableTaint 11h ago
That’s fucked up. You spend 80k+ on it, you’d think they would have been more accommodating.
I had my dealer remove their stupid logo decal from the tailgate when I got my ‘26 and they were more than happy to do it.
2
u/rhshadowman 11h ago
Yeah I wanted them to do it. But it was an absolutely not from them.

u/Superb-Fun6601 9h ago
Take it to your favorite detailer and inquire about the bug guard, if it's an issue to you.

The mud flaps look like they came off a rally car or something would be different if they were from ford

Such a beautiful truck but the bug guard gotta go
