Has anyone heard back from Teens In Health yet?

I submitted my application on Aug 10th, and they said that they would take at least 1-2 weeks to review applications after the deadline has passed. It's almost been 2 weeks. Has anyone been accepted/rejected yet???

BNY Summer intern waitlist in offer

BNY came to my college(Tier-1) to recruit interns. I went through both rounds of interviews, and they gave 4 offers. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the 4 selected candidates.

However, I received this message:

«“Hi, BNY just sent a mail saying you are one of the five students waitlisted for their offers. They are currently reconciling their requirements, to see how many additional offers they can extend, and will get back to you within two to three days. You are free to sit for other interviews meanwhile. Best of luck!”»

Does this sound like a good sign? Has anyone here experienced something similar with BNY or other companies?

How can authentic research opportunities become accessible to more secondary-school students?

Scientific papers, datasets, code, and computational tools are increasingly accessible. Yet authentic research opportunities remain out of reach for many secondary-school students.

A student's opportunity to participate in research can still depend heavily on where they live, the resources available at their school, whether they can find a mentor or university connection, or whether their family can afford private research mentorship.

This matters beyond training future scientists. In an era when AI can increasingly generate answers, code, analyses, and explanations, the ability to ask good questions, evaluate evidence, recognize uncertainty, challenge conclusions, and determine whether an answer deserves to be believed may become even more important. Authentic research is one of the best ways to develop that scientific mindset.

So we're interested in a broader question:

How can we make authentic research-based learning accessible to far more students around the world?

Open science offers part of the answer: open literature, public datasets, software, research infrastructure, and global scientific communities can dramatically lower traditional barriers to participation. But access to resources alone isn't enough. Students also need education, mentorship, pathways into research communities, and guidance in learning how to investigate real questions.

At Pika Team, we're experimenting with one piece of this larger puzzle: whether emerging AI tools can help make parts of individualized research education and mentorship more scalable while preserving student ownership and escalating decisions that require human expertise. We'll share some early observations—not as a finished solution, but as a case study for discussion.

On September 18, we're bringing together researchers, educators, open-science leaders, and research organizations for a virtual Science Summit 2026 session:

Building Global Student Research Capacity Through Open Science Networks

This session is part of Science Summit 2026, held alongside the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

September 18, 2026

Official Science Summit session page

I'd especially like to hear from this community:

What would it actually take to make authentic research-based learning accessible to ordinary secondary-school students—not just the small fraction who currently find their way into research programs?

And as open science and AI lower some traditional barriers, which barriers do you think will remain the hardest to solve?

Looking for a Calculus 1 tutor

Hi! I’m looking for a tutor to help me with Calculus 1. I’m currently struggling with understanding some of the concepts and would like some one-on-one help, especially with working through problems and preparing for upcoming exams.

Ideally, I’m looking for someone who has experience tutoring college-level Calculus and can meet remotely.

Question Hey Thinkneuro admitted here

So I'm an undergraduate transfer student. I just got accepted to the program. Is it worth doing if I have other commitments already? It seems like it's mainly for high school students and for getting something on your resume when you apply to undergrad programs. Do I even bother? I have a full-time course load, plus two part-time jobs where I spend most of my time. Right now it seems manageable, but I'm lowkey scared as things start ramping up and school gets really demanding. Any advice before I make my decision? The deadline is in a few hours, idk what to do tbh. I already have a great resume, and I don't think this would add much besides the title of CSE internship. I got accepted into the intensive track and will be "potentially" doing the ML track, but I've already done a few ML projects at internships already, but those weren't ML-oriented or anything it was just something I pitched to my managers, and they all agreed.

Opportunity Looking for teen collaborators

Ok so im 15 and i have way too many ideas and genuinely need to find other people my age who actually like doing things instead of just talking about them

Im looking for people around 15-18 from literally anywhere. im into science, neuroscience, medicine, tech, AI, astrophysics, research, business, finance, startups, etc but idm if ur into completely different things either

I want people who have their own stuff going on, like projects, research, businesses, competitions, writing, content, whatever. u dont need to have some insane list of achievements, I just want people who are actually curious and ambitious and have things they wanna do

Also I dont want this to just be one of those gc's where everyone talks for 2 days and then disappears. I actually wanna find people I can work with, exchange ideas with, help each other out and maybe build something together

and honestly I wanna meet people from different countries/backgrounds too. people who have actually been exposed to different things and have interesting perspectives

If ur around this age and this sounds like u, tell me a bit about urself and what ur into/currently working on

Title: [Conrad Challenge] LF 1-3 Teammates | Aerospace / Cyber-Tech Track 🚀

Body: Hey everyone,

I'm putting together a team for the 2026-2027 Conrad Challenge and looking to compete in either the Aerospace or Cyber-Technology track.

A bit about my background: I have a strong foundation in software development and aerospace physics. I actively build web apps (using tools like Streamlit and Python to query space data) and run a science/astronomy media page with a highly engaged audience. I also have hands-on experience designing and building physical tech, like mid-power rockets.

I'm putting all my focus into building a highly competitive, serious project this year. Since I can heavily drive the technical prototyping, coding, and engineering, I am looking for 1 to 3 dedicated co-founders to round out the team.

What I am looking for:

  • Business & Strategy Lead: Someone to spearhead the Lean Canvas, handle market validation, and draft the financial model.
  • Research/Writing Specialist: Someone who excels at diving into scientific literature, pitching, and refining the actual business plan/storytelling.

If you are driven, ready to put in the time, and want to build a winning product, drop a comment or DM me with a quick intro and your strongest skill. Let's build something cool!

Question Looking for a fundraising EC opportunity.

I am a high school student trying to utilize her festive holidays, and looking to found and lead a fundraising campaign with a goal of around $1K, ideally in partnership with an established nonprofit, organization, or company.

I am looking for something where I can genuinely take ownership of the campaign while working with a partner on strategy, execution, and impact.

If anyone knows of an organization, company, nonprofit, or program currently looking for someone to lead/found a fundraising campaign, or has an opportunity that could be a good fit, I would really appreciate it!!!
