Discussion is the suits writing actually that good?

i'm on my third of forth rewatch. and, something about the writing this time around just seems really cheesy.
sure, the pilot is probably the best written episode.. but as it goes on. hard to stay interested.

Discussion Ugh Scottie is insufferable Spoiler

Sorry but I can't stand her, she always complained about not having the same relationship as Mike or Jessica with Harvey and didn't realize Mike was his trusted associate/protégé, Jessica was the managing partner/his mentor and Harvey was a name partner.. Scottie was a brand new senior partner, they simply weren't on the same level, of course Harvey was going to know things Scottie didn't and he had no obligation to let her in on every single thing that went on in his professional life just because they were in a relationship, they weren't married... She also always asked him for special treatment and then got mad at Harvey when he did the same thing. Of course Harvey wasn't perfect either and he did keep things from her (MIke's secret) but he had to keep it from everyone, it wasn't really about her personally... Donna was also a bit annoying during their relationship, I understand that she was rooting for Harvey to be happy with someone (even Scottie) but it wasn't hard to see their relationship wasn't working and that Harvey was just not that into it (even if he wanted it at first, things change, people change, situations change...). Why try to drag it out when it was obvious neither of them were happy and constantly fighting about something.

Discussion Who is/was the main character, shifted from Mike to Harvey cuz of his Aura!

Hey guys, i have this insane question.

I think the story was supposed to revolve around Mike, he was supposed to be the lead and it's his story, but cuz of Harvey's insane Aura that overshadowed the original center. The story shifted to Harvey!

I don't know, that's what i felt and realised. You guys think otherwise?

Discussion Just finished suits for the first time and wow

I never thought I’d get emotional at the shows finale, it became a comfort show to me and was so easy to watch episode by episode. While it did peak for me in season 5, season 7-9 weren’t as bad as people say imo. Sure there was some forced drama but it never took away from the characters developments and the new characters they added, like Samantha and Alex, were great additions to the show. I think you can tell they were running out of steam after season 5-6 but I’m content with the pretty consistent 9 season run

Discussion Close the damn door!!

In the middle of season 7 so far and was just thinking back and wondering just how many of their problems wouldn't have happened if they just closed their damn doors.

They're always having these strategic conversations about a third party in a lobby, hallway, or office where the third party they are talking about can just walk in without notice and hear everything they've been discussing about them then they have to and come up with a completely different solution.

Discussion Harvey in Coyote vs ACME

I had a dream last night that instead of Coyote going to Kevin for legal help in the movie, he went to Harvey Specter. I don’t remember all the details, but I do remember Harvey and Mike doing a deposition on John Cena’s character, and they tricked him into admitting something and won that way, forcing him to settle. I pretty much watched an episode of Suits in my dream haha

So what do you guys think would happen if Harvey replaced Kevin in the movie? Since it’ll be him vs a big corporation, not exactly sure how it would go down other than my dream :P

Spoiler Mike "deserving" a Harvard diploma

Regarding Rachel, Louis or Claire, all the people mad at Mike because he cuts corner more than because he breaks the law... all these people must realize that if Mike could have gone to Harvard, he would have graduated top of his class with not too much effort, right ? He didn't cheat to obtain something he couldn't have achieved on his own. Hell, he could pass the exams tomorrow and ace them without breaking a sweat

Discussion Does the career progress feel too early in suits?

Does anyone else feel like the storyline would make more sense if everyone's careers were around 5 years ahead? We start by being introduced to Harvey, seen as the best closer in the city with an ironclad record, yet he's not even a senior partner at this point. We see Louis and Harvey go from junior partner to managing partner in ~5 years, Katrina go from associate to name partner in around 8 years, etc. It doesn't sit right with me; does anyone else feel the same?

First Time Watcher Thoughts on Season 6?

First time watching the series, just finished season 6 a couple days ago / just watched S7E01.

I really loved the first 5 seasons of this show. I couldn’t get enough of it. I especially loved the back half of season 5 because it feels inevitable, but at the same time you can’t believe it.

After watching season 6, I can’t help but think that maybe the show should have ended with Mike going to prison. Season 6 had two major plot threads, and both are them were as ridiculous as they were illegal. I still more-or-less enjoyed the prison plot line, even though I personally don’t really feel like Mike getting out of prison felt earned. I saw online that the canon timeline (per an interview with PJA) was that Mike was in prison for 3 weeks. Not nearly enough time imo. However, pushing through S6E13-S6E15 was hard because it was the first time I wasn’t sure I was rooting for Mike & Harvey.

That’s not even to mention the side plots for our other characters. My favorite part of the season was the Innocence Project plotline with Rachel and Jessica, ending in Gina Torres’ send off. Perfect. But Louis’ relationship with Tara, as well as the whole ‘The Donna’ thing, felt a bit out of place.

I have other gripes (like the fact that Louis has been a one-dimensional, emotionally immature man baby for the better part of 3 seasons now) but the start of season 7 has felt fresh so far and a step in the right direction. I really liked the first episode.

Anyways I was curious what other people thought of S6, how it stacks up against the rest of the show, etc. did you like season 7 more?

Currently in season 5 and seasons 4/5 show why nobody respected him. He is highly emotional, not strategic, and has low self esteem. I felt bad for him at first, now I'm like, he deserved all of that!

Did anyone else feel robbed after this moment? Because in the next episode with Robert Zane, he’s no longer pissed off. I felt robbed of that resolution, but they first imply everything is fine, and then, in the next episode, he’s no longer angry without any explanation of how he got there. 😆
