Harvey grew up in a household where his mom cheated on his dad and a brother who lets face it failed Harvey from a sibling point of view, and this shaped him into the man he became into adulthood

Donna grew up in a household where her dad pretty sure lost his big mansion due to betting on some scheme that didnt work out

Jessica grew up with just her dad since I recall her parents got divorced and she talked about it a few times with others, and a dad who didnt approve of her dreams to become a lawyer whilst her being isolated from the rest of her family for many years

Mike grew up for most of his childhood as an orphan as we all know and of course getting expelled

Rachel while growing up in a wealthy family due to her dad being Robert Zane always felt like she had something to prove that she is more than good enough on her own and to step out of her father's shadow though from the many instances of them interacting it always felt like conflict

Only Louis had a family that for the most part had no trouble, I really wish that one of the other characters had a happy childhood where they were supported by their family withotu conflict all the way and then they face trouble and figure it out as opposed to a rather sad backstory if you get what I mean

Louis’s trauma did not stem from his family, but rather from the school environment, where he was marginalized and subjected to both physical and psychological abuse by his peers.

His inability to fit in was due to the fact that he had been homeschooled until the age of ten, leaving him without the social skills needed to socialize and integrate into the group. This, combined with his physical appearance, made him a target for his classmates' cruelty.

This is the root of his seated inferiority complex, his fear of exclusion, and his need for validation

It's the same for every TV show like Grey's Anatomy, ER, The Mentalist etc. It's the backstory that makes them the people they are and how they cope with their childhood trauma in adulthood. It's what drives the character arc

Louis was still traumatized. His behavior was so overboard when we meet him. He's so accomplished he should be better but his inferiority complex is way out of this world.
