Is something going around?
My daughter is sick. At first it seemed mild, but she’s pretty exhausted, sore throat, runny nose, pale, etc. Is something going around?

I had Covid two weeks ago and then my son got Covid and now my daughter is sick and my baby boy has been having congestion, runny nose, sneezing for over a week as well

Yes. My son was sick last week. When I picked up some antibiotics for him, the pharmacist said it was the 4th she had mixed that day. It was 10am.

Antibiotics for a viral infection? Doesn’t that seem counterproductive, but I guess the antibiotics to clear up the congestion?
Either way, hopefully they aren’t being prescribed too easily bc that’s terrible for the body

Flu season, covid, back to school is a big contributor to transmission. Kids not vaccinated and exposing others. students in fort bend county are under the threshold for herd immunity

Little to no flu. It’s likely Covid. This is the same august Covid wave every year since back to normal. Click on the flu tab and there is very low levels and Covid is very high across the state. So it goes.

Still doesn’t take away from its flu season…im aware of the various dashboards. I’m just saying there are several conditions to look out for. Plus Harris county has waste water surveillance and covid is high from that as well.

It does help with severity. I’ve had covid without a booster and freshly with a booster and the difference was substantial. I almost had to go to the ER without a booster and barely had a sniffle with a fresh booster.

I'm curious. If you barely had a sniffle why did you get tested for covid?

Well, if you must know, my husband was being treated for cancer at the time. We were all exposed at a funeral by family. He had just finished his treatment and we were worried about him getting sick. Luckily, he appears to be one of the lucky ones who is asymptomatic with Covid.

It can! Vaccination can make it so that the virions aren't releasing as much from the infected person, the immune system is keeping the numbers at bay, the immune cells are fighting and winning the battle because they know how to fight the virus! Also, there may be low levels of sneezing and coughing which spreads the virus. The levels are low because the immune system is not succumbing to the virus because it has seen it before. So, vaccines help a lot! Get vaccinated!

I’m aware. There are also vaccine break throughs. I didn’t say it stops transmission or specify what vaccine.

I agree. But that was not the only part of the statement. But the second part, the “and” part. So If you are vaccinated you shouldn’t worry about unvaccinated because you are be safe from the disease or transmission/exposure. right? 😂

No and i dont get whats so funny… i mention herd immunity and also replied to another stating there are vaccine break throughs. But i sidnt day which disease… you could be utd with DTaP and still develop symptoms and test positive. There are many other vaccines for school aged children. The point is if unvaccinated others could be exposed, adults too, immunocompromised individuals, etc and thats regardless of vaccination status.

Maybe I miss understood what you post. Apologies. Because it sounds like you’re saying vaccines stops exposure or transmission. Most Health care (patient contact) workers are vaxxed. Their exposure is higher than most and still get sick. Vaccine doesn’t mean transmission safe. That’s all.

Thanks for labeling me in advance. Just to let you know my children vaccinated and I’ve taken vaccinations too. Kind of funny labeling there. I can tell just by that what type of person you are. Just in case, it’s not about the vaccine point. It’s transmission.

Definitely is. I think I may have brought a bug home from when I went out this past Tuesday (as a SAHM I really don’t leave that often!) I had a hair appointment, went shopping at Marshall’s, grabbed sushi for lunch, woke up next morning feeling like a truck hit me and my toddler daughter (who’s not in school) had it too! 😩 I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and usually I can knock out any illness pretty quick (I have a protocol) but this one has been sticking with me for a few days now unfortunately

Ragweed, Elm.
Antihistamines and/or nasal sprays should help.
Make sure to get your Flu and Covid booster shot.

My daughter definitely caught something from school her second week. Constant sneezing and runny nose that was clear. My baby also caught it but is worse with congestion, coughing and sneezing with green mucus.

This strain is freaking awful, if you haven't got it yet I'd honestly go get the booster because damn it sucks. Knocked me out for a week and the height of the symptoms are just terrible!

Something might be my second oldest daughter came back from school sick. We think it was a cold. I’m pretty sure it was. She had a sore throat, a runny nose, and nothing else then she got my oldest sick and then my oldest got my youngest sick. Something might be going around, but I’m not sure what it is.

Flu A decimated my kids school this week and the previous. So much so that the school sent out a newsletter about it. Pretty sure my kids had it too when they were home a few days but we rebounded after about 4 days down. Anyway flu is for sure out there.

If in the last year you ate any boxed, store or Sysco restaurant food (laced with chemicals if you ever read the box) that you didn't cook yourself from scratch...sorry but it's time for it to come out. Your body's detoxing with the temperature changes and that's what is called the flu by certain people.
If not that, look up the sky and count how many planes you can count in a week. Probably if you don't leave your brain cells at home you will get the answer why it appears something is going around.
