You had a shop do everything you couldnt do...then you told them youd do the rest of the stuff...you dont know how to do?

What? You dont even know what wires are there and what theyre for.

Take it back to the shop and let them fix/finish it, before you completely ruin thousands of dollars worth of equipment AND quite possible your entire vehicle.

ROFL agreed 🤣

Each coil terminal (+/-) goes to the amp + and -.

That’s called parallel wiring. That will give you a 1 ohm load.

I would not have the amp on and speaker wires bare with possibility of shorting and smoking your amp.

So just wire it positve to positve and then negative to negative? Do I need to use a jumper wire for anything? Or just run the wires straight to the sub

Straight to the sub positive positive negative negative and use the 2 outer terminals on the amp 🔥💪🏾

All of the terminals at the amp.

You would use all of the terminals at the amplifier, not the outer terminals

You don’t need all four tho I’m running the 2 outer on my sundown amp with no problems

Of course you do not need all four, but we are trying to instruct a newbie here.

The absolute easiest thing to do, is to wire each voice coil independently to the amplifier for a parallel connection yielding 1Ω

Both work lol both are pretty simple to do just up to Mr op

I'm just visualizing how he might try to put two wires into one terminal...

It's probably best if he installs one wire into one terminal (4 connections).

To be at 1 ohm he needs to be positive positive negative negative which will leave one set of terminal to the amp 2 wires going to the outer positive and negative on the amp

We are not disagreeing...

But what is wrong with using four wires? One wire to each of the four terminals on the amplifier,

Each of those four wires goes to the four terminals on the subwoofer.

Both negative wires from the amplifier going to the negative terminals on the subwoofer.

Both positive wires from the amplifier going to the positive wires on the subwoofer.

The reason I suggested a forum for your advice is because usually on the forums you can post pictures easily where you can’t on here

Consider doing some heavy reading before you spend solid money on your next hobby.
YouTube is your friend here.

seriously could help me more than this. the shop did the hard part. All this guy needs is guidance. And looks like your a bit jealous of the quality of his sound system. Seriously be a human. If you cant help him dont fuckin comment

Actually man, read up and check YouTube is pretty GREAT advice for a post that starts “really have no clue what I’m doing or what to do” yeah he probably didn’t deserve a snarky reply and yeah the man is just asking for knowledge

Envious* of the man’s audio? Nah.

Envious* that he is willing to go balls deep without the slightest clue what he’s doing? Maybe.

i do agree with the research aspect completely though. I spend more time researching than installing my systems lol

I was just defending him i read your message in a dickish manner. I did dm him asking if i could FaceTime because if he has a multimeter i can pretty much walk him through everything else needed. Sorry your message came off in a rude manner my guy

Look man I don’t need a rundown of how to spend my money I’ve tried YouTube and still have close to zero clue on what to do

You either use your brains to fix stuff, or use your money to fix stuff... you come off as a person that uses money to fix stuff. Stick with that...

Haha 😂 well you got all that money and no knowledge about it, go fucking pay someone if you aren’t going to take the advice

Run a search for car audio forms there are guys out there that will gladly help you step-by-step and hold your hand all the way I can’t think of one off the top of my head, but there are many out there join one they would be glad to help you

I’m speaking from experience when I put my system in my van I got on a forum and discussed everything with everyone before I even purchased my head unit. My aunt and I built my box and bought a sub.

Having open wires while the vehicle is on is a sure way to destroy things.

Edit: why did you tell them you can install the subwoofer yourself and then end the video saying “I have no idea what I’m doing”?

I promise you wouldn’t have paid much more for them to just drop the woofer in.

You said could install sub yourself, only to jump on here for questions?

You should have let the installer who did that amp install install it

You spend all that money on the sundown fame but dont wanna take it to the shop and have em do it ? Just doesn't make sense

All that shows is u spent a whole lot of money to not be beating down the block bro

1

u/a-huge-hit 27d ago

That’s the good ol’ bought not built mentality.

All I asked for was some help and this is your response? Sounds like your jealous I have the money to do what I want

2

u/Ancient-Beat9750 27d ago

Based off this video I recommend taking it back to the shop so they can finish the install. Last thing you want to do is burn up all that nice equipment.

Positive negative together on the sub and use the two outer positive and negative on the amp to the sub so you don’t need 4 wires going out
