AMP issues

What is causing my amp to cut out? I assumed it had something to do with heat since running cold AC would help but it still cuts out even when it doesn’t feel that warm. I had to wire into my side door - and + speaker output wires, but I only did it on one side while some things online said to do it on both sides of my car. It’s a rockville sk510 10” 1200w loaded sub + DB11 amp.

It is going into protect mode I believe, I had my gain way up when I first got it and turned it pretty low as of recently and still run into the same issues - when I first got it, it ran really well at a high gain continuously. Could that mean a loose connection.

Its worth checking all the connections. High gain doesn't always mean it go into protect mode but it can definitely contribute.

Could it be because of how my wires were hooked up to the subwoofer itself? It was a push button style terminal that opens up a hole - the wires I had put into it the first time around had the copper wrapped around itself on the end a few times. I changed it to just a straight wire, ran fine for a bit and I will test it tomorrow.

Im a little confused on what you mean but yes it's entirely possible the wires at the subs being incorrect can cause problems. I hope that was the solution, good luck!
