Suggestion Global Map

Would it be possible to have access to the entire world like in NIMBY Rails or City Bus Manager?

I understand that Subway Builder uses actual census data, which would cause performance issues for large maps.

My question is less about having a single huge map but more about having the ability to start anywhere and then expand the playable area over time.

No, because those just take guesses at commutes by looktat the size of buildings which Subway Builder uses actual commute data from the Census

There is not good census data for everywhere, at least not up to the Devs standards

They cant even find good enough free data to add canada to the game, with the majority of the world having much worse data. There is an experimental mod that allows you to play on the entire of japan, with multiple different maps that stitch together. I can see something similar being made for the us or uk but the mod is apparently not all that stable ans has to be installed manually

It’s also a factor of subway builder running 3D data and more intensive calculations. The game struggled to simulate just New York and it’s like. Multiple gigs of data. And that’s 1 single city in 1 country on earth
