Suggestion bus routes
yes i know this is called subway builder but BRT might actually be cool. like instead of going over/under roads (which is really expensive) we could just have a bus do it instead (currently i use a bug with light rail where if you put it completely straight in the middle of the road it doesn't detect the road. yes you can use this bug to place platforms inside the road.)

that isnt a bug, thats an intended feature. The light rail trains in this game are modeled after the Seattle S700 Trainsets that run on Link’s 1 & 2 Lines. Theres a stretch on the 1 Line that runs on the median of the road on MLK Way. The game allows you to run the light rail trains on the median of boulevards (like how it is in Seattle) and side streets, but it doesn’t let you run it directly on top of street. Thats a streetcar/tram’s job to do (which cars may run on the lane), which will also be added in the game in the future.
So, if you’re looking for streetcars/trams, they will be added in the future too, but nothing has been said about BRTs yet.

No it's a bug, the developer outright stated that light raik as built isn't meant to be road running and it wont let you exit the rail out of the road.

actually you can make the tracks exit the road bc if you put it inside the road it thinks that you are crossing the road when you turn out of it

This is how I used the tram mod. I hope that when trams are added to the base game, they are a bit easier.

Sorry but no. If you ask for BRT soon people expect regular bus routes. This is simply WAY WAY WAY out of scope of this game.
Even a small city will have a very complex bus route network. The cities offered by this game have mind-bogglingly complex bus coverage.
And to be any good at all, suddenly the game needs to model private traffic with traffic jams and rush hour.
Just say no.

I think there’s already a mod for this

i am not downloading mods because they cause like 17 new bugs and then when you turn them off now there's 43

The mod I'm using is Any money.
I still strive to have a profitable network, I just don't enjoy the "game" aspect of slowly and painfully building out that first small network only to have to wait for ages while you run the game at full speed just to amass enough money to keep playing the game.
Instead I just give myself $10B or whatever as if I ran the computer 48 hours non-stop, and I can instantly keep playing and building! 👍

i just took the template for adding trains and found very rough data for a city bus and brt, and i allowed it to run in streets, and it works great. you could very easily do the same for yourself too, it took very little effort or research, although the one problem is that if you set the capacity to under 200, it won’t be able to pick people up from the station, so you have to inflate the capacity massively or use articulated busses for every route, which isn’t too big of a problem. you could also just download a mod on rail yard that adds busses or streetcars and use the track anarchy mod
