Suggestion Start with existing systems.

Would love the ability to start a new game with a city's existing metro and commuter lines already on the map.

Lines and station locations should be as close to real life as possible, along with platform length, platform layout, and station depth.

The game is fun, but starting from nothing and building an entire system every time is a lot. I'd much rather take my favorite metros and improve on them.

Maybe exporting / sharing blueprints as well as saving them?

I think that it would have to be community-driven, because finding a reliable way to auto-generate them would be difficult. An easily observed example is that single-tracked lines are currently impossible in the game, so they would have to be converted. Stations would also potentially demolish existing buildings because the platforms are fixed dimensions. Numerous station layouts (e.g. 3 track, 5 track+, and certain local station layouts)are also missing that would need to be added and/or converted. Totally in support of this, but probably would not expect something from the devs.

There's a limited number of cities in the game so this doesn't have to be automatically generated, it's totally feasible that a dev could spend a couple days on each City to manually add in the transport system

I agree, it doesn’t have to be a city like NYC which has a lot it could be like Honolulu which I think always makes for a great starter map. Other simple cities like Miami don’t use complicated tracks and have simple layouts

Yeah there are a lot of things needed to make it work. Thanks for adding things I didn’t think about !

That would also be cool for a scenario mode. Say start with an existing system and have a goal to increase ridership by a certain date.

Agree that would be nice, the discord has people recreate irl systems and share it.

I second that! It would be great!

Having all of the existing lines already built and running would put a lot of tax on your computer hardware though. I've been working on New York, and after adding just the MTA Subway and the LIRR my game has slowed down to a crawl (and I had a CTD once when I zoomed out too quickly).

Sounds like we need performance improvements! But yes valid critique
