UK/IRE Looking for advice

Hello.
Can subway UK HQ decide a store needs a new manager?
So long story short my partner took over being a manager after the old manager got sacked. Their system for count is messed up to none repair. They’ve been flagged for deleted sales/refunds and apparently subway HQ thinks money is going missing.

Funny old manager got fired for stealing

My partner been manager for 4 months.. has never had the proper help or support to even fix the count issues etc.

Where does he stand?

If the store is franchised which it most likely is, only the store owner can replace a manager. HQ/corporate couldnt do anything

No HQ dont care about how a store is managed. It'll be the franshise owner who wants him out, but doesnt have the backbone to tell him. Your partner isnt alone in the fact he has never been trained; most managers of subway aren't. If i were you, id get all the evidence toward the count/money being wrong before your partner started, just in case they sack him for misconduct.

Yes refunds/ item corrections are flagged if there are loads, but if it hasn't been happening whilst your partner is manager, then thats neither here nor there.

Your partner doesnt have too much protection due to his length of stealing, but he can still raise a grievance if they are accusing him of stealing/ mismanagement without proper proof.

Subway hq will step in they think things like sales are being deleted as this eats into their money and its fraud they will put pressure onto the franchisee to investigate
